Hello!

Every year at my nans we have exactly the same boring food. This year it’s at our house and we are looking forward to preparing some Christmas goodies. What does everyone else serve on their Christmas table? What are some good things the kids can prepare?

  • Variety is great, but don’t complicate things too much for me. Always a roast, ham, and prawns for me. Snacks and dips plate. Bread and salads. Salad and rum/rumless balls can be prepared by the youngsters. https://drivingmad.io

  • My absolute favourite meal of the year! We have baked leg ham, a beef Wellington and Pork loin with HEAPS of crackling! For dessert we have a store bought pudding, gingerbread men (made by the kids) and a Aussie pav!! It’s the best day and I am so looking forward to Christmas after this crazy year!

  • For something different, this year we are having tiramisu for dessert – can’t wait :)

  • We are always traditional with the ham, turkey, beef or lamb with all the lovely veggies!

  • Did you kids end of helping for the Xmas spread? What did they end up doing if they did?

  • Shortbread in the shapes of Christmas things. I like to get creative for Christmas meals too. Hubby likes the traditional roast turkey, ham etc with leftovers for days and days afterwards

  • Kids can make little sweets, cakes and shortbread. Shortbread can be made with Christmas cookie cutters and wrapped in cellophane and tied with a pretty red ribbon.

  • i love variety but keep it simple! i always do a roast, ham, prawns. Dip platter and snacks. Salads and bread rolls. The kids can make the salad and rum/rumless balls

  • Get the kids to make a decorate cookies =) Nice and easy!! For a Christmas meal, I like doing to old Roast – but like 3 different kids – beef, pork and chicken with the roast vegies like potato, carrot, pumpkin, sweet potato, onion,, and then some other vegies like corn and peas. bread rolls as well. and defintiely cant have roast without gravy, and apple sauce ect…
Then for dessert, cake of course, ice cream, and have out lollies and chips ect… and the cookies…
Hope your Christmas meal is everything you hope it to be no matter what you do!! Just remember Christmas is about spending time with your family, so don’t be hard on yourself to have the “perfect” meal!!

  • Traditional fare and modern fare with lots of trimmings. We bake shortbread, mince pies and other Christmas treats. We also make a non alcoholic Christmas punch.

  • Same old same old traditional fare for our family whatever the location. I bought up changing the menu but mum was horrified. Sometimes it’s easier to keep the peace.
