  • colour bond and then you can bury snake wire underneath to prevent digging. Failing this you can also buy an electric perimeter collar which will shock them if they get to close to the fence.

  • As a kid, dad put up asbestos fencing. It went into the ground so far and was 6ft high, good to stop dogs going under and over. We have 2 dogs, no fence and neither of them wander. Training and regular exercise will help control your dogs too

  • Redundant fences: Redundant fences are the jam. I know of more than one family (mine included) whose backyard life got an extreme makeover when they put in one of these babies. So what is a redundant fence exactly?
It’s a fence within a fence. You can put up a secondary, internal fence on just one side of your yard – wherever the problems are occurring – or all four sides.

  • Thanks for the answers – Is colour bond fencing quite expensive?

  • Colour bond fencing will stop almost any dog from escaping it also gives privacy and stops people from patting your dog through the fence or purposefully rileing them up.
A cheaper option can be pool fencing so long as the dog isnt small. Its high enough to stop jumping and there isnt anything for them to grip in order to climb.
Those 6 ft wooden paling fences are also pretty dog proof but i dont like the way they look personally.

  • Depends on the dog, if they are prone to es aping.standard paling fences keep our dogs on, but some dogs like to escape, and colourbond fencing can stopclimbers
