watch your baby, keep a diary of what they do and you will notice they make their own routine, my bub gets up feeds, plays feeds, sleep (generally 2 -3 hours) and then repeats for the afternoon. at 4 oclock has a nap and then come five we do feed, solids, put on pjs, feed, bed at 6ish. But this is something she has really done herself.
We follow eat, play, sleep, making sure bub is not awake for more than 2 hours. We have also put in place set wake up and bed times. This works well for us.
I know ‘save our sleep’ is disliked by some. But I briefly borrowed it and uses it as a guide for how many sleeps a day and when they might change. But I basically wrote my own routine for bub and tried to be consistent. What may be more important is not what time you do things but what you do before or after. So a particular song or story before nap. When you start meals try do them at regular times. Good luck
I went to Tressilian and the best advice they gave me as to follow the routine feed, play, sleep. I am doing this with my second child who is 3 months old and she is doing great, already sleeping through the night. Yay!!!
Just go by your babies signals and tailor the routine around them, feed play sleep, put to bed as soon as you notice tired signs, even if they have only been up a short while, the best tip I was given was to go by the baby not the clock.
