Hello!

Hi there mums was wondering what’s the price to look after 2kids which will be asleep all the sitter has to do is just sit there, they will be in bed already between 9-12pm thanks. What is the normal payrate for a babysitter?

  • It depends on the babysitter. A teen might expect around $20 an hour. However, we use a qualified child care worker, and we usually give her closer to $30 an hour.

  • I suppose it also depends on the baby sitters age and experience.

  • There are so many variables these days it makes ithard. for those hours id say $50

  • I think it would depend on their skill set. I would pay more for a person who has first aid and good experience with children compared to yor average joe. I think if you pay the proper rate for an experienced and educated child carer then you are going to have a far better time away from your kids knowing they are in good hands and safe! I guess it depends on how many children, time of day/night, if they have to feed them and put them to bed etc… Also would depend if you pay hourly or a flat rate too! For a night out (5ish hours) I’d be willing to pay $70-80.

  • Great answers! There are really interesting comments on this!

  • We pay ours about $70-$80, but she is a family friend. She is 22yo and a daycare worker. We have a 8,6 & 2 yo. All go to bed around 7pm. She stays for around 5-8 hours.

  • It depends on if they are professional ie it is their job or if they are high school students, family friends etc. The latter would be cheaper than the professionals

  • 15 to 20 a hour depends on skills and what they have to do

  • We pay our sitter $80. That’s for 3 children 8,6 &2, usually from 6pm (she puts them to bed) until about midnight.

  • I pay $18 per hour!

  • About $20-$25 an hour.

  • It depends on who the sitter is – if it’s an educator from my son’s child care centre, we pay $20- 25 an hour because we know they’ve got first aid skills, lots of experience, and a good relationship with our kids. If it’s a local teenager, we generally agree a flat rate – say $50 for the evening.

  • If you can find a reliable teenager in the neighborhood then $10 – $15. If not through an agency, usually $18-20 an hour.

  • We pay $20 an hour and pay for dinner.

  • $20 an hour i think is a good pay rate
