  • In general, tubal reversal could be right for you if you had only small parts of your fallopian tubes removed, or if your tubes were closed with rings or clips.
Some surgeons say the best candidates for tubal reversal are women younger than 40 who had their tubes tied right after childbirth, a procedure called postpartum tubal ligation.
If your remaining fallopian tubes are healthy, and you and your partner don’t have any other infertility issues, you have a good chance of getting pregnant after tubal reversal.
Keep in mind, though, that it doesn’t work for everyone. Age plays an important role in whether you get pregnant after tubal reversal. Older women are much less likely than younger woman to have success.
Success, hope it all works out for you !!

  • My mother had her tubes tied after her 4th child ( my brother ) and from memory you can’t reverse it . If you are seriously considering that , I would seek advice from a trusted GP . My mother has bad side effects from this and ended up having a hysterectomy which was better for her . Hope it works out for you .

  • I believe it’s quite involved but has a very high success rate. Good luck with it and your pregnancy plans :)

  • If they were done with clips they should be able to open and remove them.

  • They no longer cut and knot them your tubes. The new method – now standard procedure is they put clips on your tubes. I know a lady who had hers done about 3 years ago and is currently pregnant again because one of the clips came open. I have seen the xray showing the clip on one tube open still sitting part way around the tube. You need a referral to a gynocologist. Depending on your age and how many children you already have, you may find it hard to get one to agree to do the procedure. The Mum concerned was refused removal of uterus. I’d like to be listening when she goes in for her 6 week check-up after the birth.
