  • Consume foods that are rich in iron, specifically non-heme iron, with a source of vitamin C. Foods with vitamin A and beta-carotene help absorption as well. These foods include carrots, sweet potatoes, spinach, kale, squash, red peppers, cantaloupe, apricots, oranges and peaches.

  • I’m the same, dr advised me to eat more red meat and leafy greens. Vit C also helps with the absorbtion as well

  • Pretty sure you would have found this out by now. Why didn’t you ask your Dr whilst there? The doc would have known, or knew someone who would know

  • Dates, nuts, legumes.
Also spinach added to food ..it just mixes with everything.

  • If you’re stuck, I’ve found that a childhood dietitian is really helpful with these questions and they have really great recipes and ideas to meet your child’s nutritional needs. You are eligible to see a free government dietitian through your community health centre.

  • I am low in iron at once stage ( nearly passed out mind you and didn’t know ) , and basically you need to eat more iron rich foods such as red meat, greens legumes , nuts etc. Usually to get a good absorption you need Vit C found in juices such as oranges. Vitamin A are found rich in the “yellow ” vegies such as carrots, pumpkin , sweet potaotes etc .

  • What a good question. I have no idea. In know vitamin A (aka retinol) is also in a lot of facial creams and products.

  • yes well multi vitamins are great for fussy eaters. vit a is in a lot of stuff and you can have too much as well. Google and see if there are foods on the list that he could eat or you can add to meals.
