Hello!

How do you find your NBN speed? I am with Telstra and live rurally, and ours is terrible. Worse than our old ADSL.. Would love your thoughts

  • I moved to NBN telstra about a year ago, it’s been ok. some days it can be slow.

  • We still don’t have NBN but not really looking forward to it after hearing about so many people disappointed with it

  • We were quite far from the exchange, so NBN is faster than our ADSL. Not by a lot – saying that we haven’t gone with the fastest NBN speed plan.

  • We are NBN connected : we kept our land line but have found out that when we make a call out we can only talk for no longer than 12 minutes, after this you get cut off. This is a real problem if you are calling a business and they put you on hold etc.

  • NBN is a blown out budgetary, obsolete technology. Unfortunately for the next generation, they are going to have to pay for this in years to come with higher taxes, but the technology is a stupid idea for a country so large. The next generation would be looking for wireless technology anyway. As this is a cheap technology (was supposed to be fibre but is now cable) it is inferior anyway.

  • So upsetting to read that so many people are unahappy with NBN. I thought it was supposed to be a great change. Apparently not. :-(

  • My friend has had constant problems and the help has been less than helpful!

  • Hi there, I live in the outer suburbs of Adelaide, we have had the NBN for over 12 months and I can tell you it’s not all its cracked up to be. We have had lots of trouble with our phone since joining NBN, I kept our landline so I could ring my Mam in Ireland, but it’s been out of commission twice, and everyone blames everyone else. The speeds are good, but like everything else, if you want top speed then you pay top price. It’s not quite as brilliant as I had hoped and the battery has been beeping to be changed almost since we got it. I get constant emails to change the battery and all I do is turn it all off and then on again, but it’s a pain in the ….. you can guess the rest.

  • NBN – not here for a long time! But I have friend that is terribly unhappy with NBN.

  • NBN has just arrived here in WA where I live. But we haven’t decided yet when we do the switch.

  • thanks Mums, have found out that there is a complaints email with Telstra, so will be sending in an email and will let you know results!

  • I live in regional WA and we won’t have NBN until about 2020, I don’t even know of anyone in WA who actually has the NBN although some areas are “meant” to already have it

  • We’ve been told NBN will never be available in our area, so I can’t help

  • I live in Regional Australia and I can truthfully say that I am underwhelmed with NBN. I was expecting lightning speeds. That is not the case for me but maybe the big cities are having better luck.
I spoke to my Real Estate Agent yesterday and she said that she has only had trouble with her computers since NBN has been connected.
