Hello!

I really want to use as little nasty chemicals in my home as possible. I was wondering if anyone had any natural cleaning products they use/purchase or make themselves? Ones that work and are reliable. Can’t wait to see some suggestions! Thanks!

  • Yes !
    white vinegar
liquid castile soap or Sal Suds
    natural salt
    baking soda
    borax
    washing soda
    hydrogen peroxide
    lemons

  • I add water, lemon juice, vinegar and bicarbonate soda to a spray bottle. That cleans most everything. I some times add some dettol to the mix as well for cleaning the bathrooms and toilet. There’s plenty of ideas out there and on the internet

  • Vinegar and baking soda literally cleans anything ???? vinegar is a natural mould killer so good for the bathroom and it neutralises smells and add baking soda and it gets rid of stains off almost anything. Add some eucalyptus oil for scent. Vinegar in hot water for mopping stops streaks, same with vinegar on glass.

  • Bicarbonate Soda and Vinegar is great for everything. Sometimes I also use a little eucalyptus oil

  • Most are found in the kitchen and best of all it is budget friendly . I mainly use Bicarb soda, lemon ( if any ) , & white vinegar for cleaning/wiping areas and washing clothes . I even sprinkle salt around the toilet to get rid of corrosive areas but you need to do it at night when everyone finishes with the bathroom and leave it overnight . It whites the bowls . ( found it in Google )

  • I use vinegar for a lot of cleaning

  • I use water and eucalyptus oil as my all purpose spray and wipe

  • Diluted apple cider vinegar (50:50) can work really well.

  • I use white vinegar mostly. It works well for cleaning the loo and windows. I also make a mix from lemon juice vinegar that is a spray and wipe. Strait lemon is great for cleaning wooden cutting boards. Just cut in half and rub over board then place in sun for 30 min. Leaves it smelling fresh. Lemon can also be used on stains on white shirts. Rub in and leave in sun till dry than wash normally.

Bicarbonate paste works well on grout in bathrooms. None of these are harmful to the environment.
If you do buy products orange power works well.

  • Bicarb is my favourite versatile cleaner, and a absolute must for simply removing those horrible tea stains that happen with a mugs especially when the hubby forgets to rinse his out! A little sprinkle over the damp cup and quick rub and the white tea cups are as new.

  • Vinegar and bicarbonate can seriously clean anything and everything!

  • Baking Soda, lemon and vinegar are good to use!

  • On the Cheapskates website there is a recipe for Miracle Spray. Google it. I made some ages ago and haven’t bought any other cleaning product since.

  • Vinegar and bicarb are my favorite, but eucalyptus oil is awesome as well the spotless books are an excellent investment

  • Vinegar & bi carb soda. I also use the eco store and Earth brand products.
