Hello!

I’m getting ready for the birth of my first baby (so excited) and I’m updating our medicine cupboard. What should I include (for baby and me)?

  • I would probably start with baby panadol or nurofen, nappy rash lotion/powder, cream for cracked nipples

  • Nappy change stuff for bub and a baby thermometer. You’ll probably add as you realise what you need

  • In addition to the other brilliant comments: paw paw ointment is good for everything except sore nappies from breadfeeding.

  • I think a ‘must have’ is a good baby thermometer. It saved me from panicking about high temperatures and suspected illness. When they get a little cold, an aspirator for sucking the gunk out of their little noses makes breathing so much easier. My number one though does not require a purchase, it doesn’t take long for your mothering instinct’s to kick in….so listen to that little voice, it’s quite amazing how accurate it can be. Wishing you well and good luck with all the changes and cuddles times ahead.

  • INFANTS FRIEND!! That stuff is like nectar from the gods!
Completely herbal it is useful for EVERYTHING! It was my go-to for anything and everything for the first 6 months ????????

  • Baby panadol (suitable from 1 month), baby nose spray, infacol, thermometer suitable for baby (we use a contact less forehead one) , vaporiser/humidifier.

  • Baby Panadol, Nasal drops (saline solution) for when baby gets a cold and struggles with drinking and a good nappy rash cream like Bepanthen.

  • A multi vitamin for you. Probiotics for you and the baby (just check with pharmacist when safe to start using). Baby panadol (always check when it is safe to start using panadol or nurofen in babies before use). Baby nail clippers. Rescue Remedy great for stress relief and safe to use for the whole family. Best wishes with your impending arrival.
