Hello!

What should I tell him? My 5 year old has been saying that a shadow comes and stands in his doorway to his room at night. It sounds strange but I know he is telling the truth, as I have seen the shadow in the doorway to his room as when I was pregnant I slept in that room quite a lot (bad snorer when preggers lol). So I do understand his fear somewhat. I have tried explaining to him that whatever it is cannot hurt him, that if he sees it he can call out to me or his dad and we will come to him, have given him a torch to use I’m bed at night and will be giving him a 3D nightlight for Xmas. It’s getting to the point where he will not go to sleep unless he is sitting with me or his dad. I really feel for the little guy because I know it’s scary when u see things in the middle of the night. But I do believe there are a couple of ghosts in the house we live in, but have only see them a handful of times in over 10 years we have been living here. Any advice would be greatly appreciated TIA.

  • I would bless or get the house blessed too and go through all rooms of the house with prayers.

  • i know this was some years ago, but getting a sage sick and burning it/waving it in his room could work. also people can tell spirits to go away. also you can tell people that these ghosts are protecting them

  • That is so cool! But terribly scarey for a little one. Also difficult to explain to one so young. I wonder how it all turned out???

  • I’d love to know what happened.

  • Hope you worked everything out!

  • Dear one, ghosts are spirits and the only way I found helped is calling upon the Creator of the Universe who is a Spirit to help you. In the Bible it is mentioned that Jesus delivered many people who suffered different kinds of torments through evil ghosts. I would suggest you read the bible especially the New Testament and either you believe in this JESUS CHRIST of the BIBLE who it is written at HIS word the evil ghosts tremble and obey or you don’t. I do not have found any other cure yet. It helped me why my daughter was little and had bad dreams of snakes sleeping on her chest. I prayed too and asked JESUS of THE BIBLE to take them away and protect her and keep her dreams peaceful. She never again had any bad dreams.

  • I would ask a priest to bless the house.

  • Children are more likely to pick up on spiritual activity due to their innocence.
If your son is telling you he is seeing something then he more than likely is.
The concern I would have if I were you is that he fears it.
If this were a loving family member who had passed on he would not be scared, he would be comforted. I suggest you make a “shadow person spray” to put your son at ease. Fill a spray bottle with water and add a drop of perfume. Go around the room with your son & spray anywhere he fears he will see the shadow. Leave the spray on his bedside table in case he feels he may need it during the night.
I also suggest you buy some sage incense burners, they work just as good as sage sticks & will clear your home.
If it scares you as an adult you can imagine the fear your son must be feeling.
If things continue try to contact a paranormal group in your area or pay a visit to your local church.
    Blessed be.

  • My son used to talk to his friends in his room… He felt that they were nice, so I never worried. I would sometimes hear voices talking…

  • This is not silly, I am not a person that believes in ghosts, the after life etc, however we purchased a home that the previous owner has suicided in, we were not aware of this at the time, however we has hell, he came back and stalked us, my husband could describe him down to his uniform he wore to work, and we had moved from away so there is no way we could know this information, a neighbour confirmed this some months after we moved in, we had radio stations changed, the list went on, I would get your son a torch and let him sleep with it, get a rechargeable one, it will pay for itself and he probably will only need it for a short period of time. but do not underestimate what your child is actually seeing.

  • I used to see this stuff when I was younger and still do. Tell your son you believe him and that he can tell it to go away. He has the power in this situation. I remember telling spirits to leave me alone when I was younger and they did.

  • That would be a difficult situation but i agree with getting the house cleansed talk to someone from a new age shop generally they are pretty knowledgeble

  • “I know he is telling the truth” CREEPIEST THING THAT YOU COULD SAY!
    ALONG WITH THIS LINE….

“THE BEST SOUND IN THE WORLD IS THE SOUND OF A CHILD LAUGHING!…..UNLESS IT’S 3AM……..AND YOU’RE IN THE HOUSE……..ALONE!!!!”

OH MY GOD! my hubby is a firm non-believer but me, i don’t know, i have had weird things happen ages ago but i tend to ignore it, because it is not normal but i am not cray! i have said to my partner that if i ever had a ghost in the house, would he believe me and he said yes and that we would move right away and leave all our stuff!

we do tend to rationalise things and maybe if you have tried to work out how this could possibly be happening and it still doesn’t make sense, then you need to do something. unfortunately there are not many mainstream methods and a lot of people won’t believe you but definately seek help.

i do think that if you have been in your house for a long time, then you are ok. your son is not getting harmed! maybe you and your son are sensitive and pick up on this and maybe that’s why there is activity in the first place. you can encourage him to ignore it

  • Very difficult to explain to a 5yo. I agree with what Tene suggested. I don’t know if you are religious, but getting the house blessed might help. If you manage to get the ghosts to leave, chances are your son will just forget about it as he grows.

  • Id spray lavender in his room before bed time as its very calming and grab a pack of battery operated Christmas lights at bigw only $3 hang it in the doorway so it helps for now :)
