Hello!

There are so many party themes for boys and girls today but I want something different. We have done robots last year for the boys. Ballerina parties for the girls. Any suggestions please?

  • I have also done a camp out party for my daughter! I got a cheap tent from kmart, made a fishing game, used a blue tarp for the fishing pond, I put a touch light in the middle of red cellophane for the camp fire and put a rack over the top for a pan to sit on (to cook the fish). This one was another big hit with the kids

  • I did a decorating party for my son’s 5th birthday.
Kids decorated foam dolls, cupcakes and painted canvas’. All the kids loved it. For the cupcakes I had round paint pallets. The cupcake was in the middle of it and then I filled each of the paint spots with different lollies, sprinkles and cupcake sugar decorations

  • We are doing a Bunnings Birthday! Sausage sizzle, painting and crafts.

  • My daughter was invited to a superhero themed party and dressed as cat woman.

  • I saw an article here on MoMs the other day. Kmart have a brilliant, and cheap, party theme range. Absolutely everything you could possibly need and more. Or you could head to Woolworths or Bunnings, parties I have also seen here on MoMs

  • Don’t worry about themes, just plan some party games and it will be fun.

  • We had a sports themed party for my brother one year. We set up some sporty activities (like shooting balls through hoops and holes, kicking a ball into nets etc) and gave the boys medals.

  • Pirates for boys, with a treasure hunt worked for us. For girls what about a rainbow party, lots of colours and options.

  • I didn’t bother with themes, other then we went camping one year, the pool another year, the beach etc When you get a bunch of kids together, they’ll have fun with or without a theme

  • Depending on when the birthdays are and what the kids’ interests are, you could consider;
    – sports (the Matildas are going great guns in Canada with the FIFA Womens’ World Cup)
    – music (a particular band/ singer/ musician/ type of music)
    – fiesta (always a good excuse for a pinata!)
    – spooky/ creepy (Halloween, dress ups)
    – beach fun
    – ‘What I want to be when I grow up’
    – books

    Hope these ideas help!

  • Dinosaurs, trains, superheroes, pamper party, it all depends on what your kids like.

  • An Olympics based one to get the kiddies all moving as well as a treasure map one when we had a larger property. Saw one recently where board games had been enlarged and set up around a backyard for them all to have some fun ie. A twister board sprayed with what I assume was washable paint onto the lawn

  • whatever your child likes, go from there! There are general themes like rainbows and pirates or make a ninja turtle theme party

  • Ive done Mario Bros and Pirates themed parties.

  • Dinosaurs! great for both boys and girls!
