  • Tomatoes and basil are great to plant at this time of year .

  • I’ve found that when shopping for seedlings to plant, I can only buy the ones that are suitable to grow at that time of year. As for seeds, there are instructions on the back of the packets. I’m lucky to have a hothouse and a veggie patch, so I can grow all year round

  • Firstly it depends on the climate in your area. If you want to plant seeds take the time to decide what you want to plant then look on the packs of the seed packets. They usually have a map on them showing regions. It will give details of how and when to plant and other details. If you want to plant seedlings(baby plants) go to a garden centre or huge hardware store such as Bunnings Warehouse (not small shop) who have staff who should know what it suitable to plant in your area, when and what position in your yard is suitable

  • corn, peas, tomatos, lettuce, watermelon,

  • Check out the ABC Veggie Guide app. It is great, it tells you what will grow depending on which part of Australia you live in. The app is free, lots of schools use it for their veggie patches!

  • Not sure where you are. I am in Sydney.
    We grow beans, zucchini, eggplant.
They are fairly easy to grow and do not require too much maintenance.
You could try pumpkin as well.

  • I always grow tomatoes. I found Bunnings had a punnet that contained several different varieties and that suited me fine as I like to cook with some and have snacks or salads with other varieties also I grow beans, bush and climbing beans and they usually crop well. Enjoy the fun of growing and picking your own vegies, great for the kids to help as well.

  • Hi not sure where you are , my veggie patch is a bit sad we r in drought, I have a Zuchinni plant, shallot s, parsley, chillis, and rhubarb , If I could plant I would put in cherry tomato s, lettuce , snow peas as they are great for stirfrys, lightly steamed or even in a salad
