Hello!

I am feeling really flat and run down lately like I could sleep all day (but I don’t I work). I get 6-8 hrs sleep each night. Can you suggest any vitamins or similar that might help?

  • Yes I agree to get an overall check and blood test done first (make sure thyroid & iron are tested too), so you know what’s lacking or causing your tiredness and take it from there

  • See your GP and get a blood test done. There might also be something else going on that’s making you tired so its better to get checked or it could be low iron or vitamin D.
Are you doing any exercise? Sometimes just getting the blood pumping can make you feel better..
Maybe also try a good multivitamin if you think you aren’t getting enough nutrients from your food.

  • I would go to the dr and have blood tests done, find out what you could be lacking. My tests showed low b12 and d. After injections of b12 and daily tablets on d, it didn’t take long to pick up. I have both in tablet form on hand for future use

  • Get a blood test , I was the same. My vitamin B was very low, so had injections, and my iron levels are ridiculously high.. My Doc then recommended Vitamin D, Krill Oil, and Magnesium…. All the best

  • Probably iron and a b vitamin supplement

  • don’t take any, not sure if they do anything

  • As mentioned by others I’d get a check up from your doctor with full blood count and Thyroid levels (T3 and T4) and perhaps discuss with your doctor pending the results…

  • I can totally relate. I actually DID sleep all day almost every day. I just couldn’t function. I started a fantastic program that changed my life. I don’t even have a nanna nap now! I have soooo much energy! I used to be so foggy headed & now I have great mental clarity. I’ve never ever felt this good! The weight loss has been a bonus! I’m now no longer looking pregnant! Ha ha ha!
Happy to share the program that worked for me & is still working. 14 kilos gone for good!

  • I would suggest a multi vitamin BUT I think you should go to the Doctors and ask for a full blood count to be done for starters.
I was the same…Would sleep all night and get up at 7 and by 9 I was longing to go back to bed. There was no way I could get through the day without a sleep of 2 or 3 hours. Full blood count was done and everything was fine. But i knew what I was feeling wasnt normal so i kept on to the Doc. My Doc got annoyed with me so i tried other Doctors…Finally I found the Doctor that I have now and long story short it was discovered that i had tumors and a precancerous polyp in my uterus. I required surgery and after recovery from the surgery i feel fantastic.
If you know that how you are feeling is not normal then push for answers.

  • Get a blood test done, that will tell you if you are low on certain things. I was low on iron and took iron tablets which made a difference for me.

  • You need to take Vitamin B complex. If that doesn’t help go see your doctor to rule out anything else.

  • Getting a check up with the Dr is the best start, to rule out things and get all the blood tests done. Of you’re iron deficient, highly recommend Ferrograd C. My iron levels have always been bad and this is the only one that’ll bring the levels back up. The liquid supplements (as stated in other posts) may not ‘clog’ you up, but they didn’t do anything to increase my levels. If you do have ‘clogging’ issues with the tablet, use a dissolvable fibre supplement or talk to your Dr about Coloxyl.

  • get both your iron and vitamin D levels checked – a simple blood test after a visit to the GP. over Winter, many of us can be low in Vitamin D and it can cause you to feel sluggish and even a bit down. I walk 4-5 days a week and make sure I get plenty of Winter sun, but still have low levels (as do many women I know)

  • I agree with that you should go get a full set of bloods done. I’ve had issues after having a bug – took ages to recover and it turned out I was anemic. If you’re anemic, your doctor can recommend something (I have used and found Floradix liquid iron FABULOUS – being a liquid it doesn’t give you the unpleasant clogging :/ ). Chances are it will just be iron depletion, but there could be something else or a reason other than normal rushed parenting life that is causing the iron or other issue.

  • The best think to do is get a full blood test which will let you know what you are lacking. It could be an iron deficiency or your thyroid not working properly or vitamin D deficiency etc. all these and more mimic the same symptoms so the best way is to have a full blood test that will check everything. Good luck!
