Today there are so many allergies like nuts around and we have to be careful what to pack for lunches. I have a preschooler and would like some recipe ideas that are school friendly.

  • At our kids kinder it has a fruit and sanwich only policy. No nuts, honey, sprinkles on sandwiches , museli bars, cakes of any sort (even homemade ones) or prepackaged foods are allowed. . What i put in the lunch box is a sandwich or saladas with vegiemite or with slced meat and cheese. Some fruit and a rice cake or cheese and crackers.
For my son at school the rules are a little more relaxed so i do all of the above ideas as well as wraps wih meat and cheese, saultanas, carrot sticks, and homemade cakes. The only rules the school has is there must be fruit in the luch box that can be easily eaten an that there is no nuts of anysort in anything brought to school. They also enforce a strict no sharing food at all policy and water only as a drink no fruit boxes etc as it is a water only school.

  • we are pretty boring in our house…it’s either avocado and cheese, cheese and vegemite, cheese, grated carrot and cream cheese or ham and cheese.
My kids are fussy and they are happy with those combos, so don’t venture any further.
