Is over 40 too old to have a baby?
If you get pregnant at 40 to 45 years old, experts consider this a “late” pregnancy. But it’s still possible to get pregnant and deliver a healthy baby in your 40s. Childbirth at older ages has become more common too. Since the 1990s, birth rates in people aged 40-44 have gone up.
Although most men are able to have children well into their 50s and beyond, it becomes gradually more difficult after the age of 40 . There are many reasons for this, including: Sperm quality tends to decrease with age.
do you mean physically or mentally? physically your body wont be able to get pregnant during or after menopause, but if you are an older person with no children say late 30s to late 40s as ong as you are fairly healthy and obviously aware of the risks of having a baby later in life, downs etc, you should be fine to go for it. as far as men go i know someone who has become a father at 70 so anything is possible there i guess it also depends on his health and lifestyle.
