Hello!

Is there a time limit on sending out wedding invitations? Eg 2 weeks before the ceremony, 2 months, 6 months. Wedding is 25/3/2017, need to know when to send out invites. Help!!

  • I hope you had a beautiful wedding.

  • Usually 6-8 weeks before the wedding, although many send out “save the date” cards earlier.

  • I sent mine out six weeks prior.

  • 6 weeks for a formal invitation but much earlier for a ‘save the date’ notification

  • Six weeks is the tradition, but lots of people send out less formal advice about the date, especially if guests are likely to have to travel.

  • I dont know if this helps but my Daughter-In-Law sent out save the date cards about 3 months before the wedding and the actual invites 7-8 weeks before due to needing numbers of adults and children coming. You can also include an acceptance card with : Yes I can and will be coming or No I am sorry i cannot make it and how many children if any.

  • im almost certain that proper etiquette is 3 months before the wedding.

  • You should send them out with enough time for responses for any deadlines you have – e.g. finalising numbers.

  • You can send them them out when it suits you,l would send them two months beforehand.Best of Luck on your Wedding Day! Cheers!

  • Marrying at the end of March, I think I would send them out around half of January.

  • Its generally about 6 – 8 weeks prior to the wedding and taking into account things like Christmas (if you are getting married in Jan or Feb (to allow for delays in postage)
