Hello!

I wish to try it in my creamy home made vanilla ice cream recipe. Where can you buy unsweetened condensed milk?

  • Evaporated milk is the same thing as condensed milk. Cans labelled condensed milk almost always have sugar added, as such they’re labelled “sweetened condensed milk”. If you want unsweetened, buy evaporated milk. Same process minus the added sweetener.

  • They should be in any supermarkets in the powdered milk isles . They are normally in a can and should have unsweetened labeled on it . I don’t like any of the sweetened ones as they are way too sweet for my liking .

  • Carnation milk is completley different. I’ve never heard of unsweetened condensed milk, but I’d love to know where to get some. Maybe you could make it?

  • No, evaporated milk us completely different to condensed milk! I always thought you could get unsweetened from Coles and Woolies???

  • Thank you Freeloss for your reply. I guess that means i may not be able to use it in my creamy home made vanilla ice cream recipe. I might try it though too see if it works.

  • I believe evaporated milk is the same thing as unsweetened condensed milk – you can buy it in a can at any supermarket.
