Hello!

Hi Guys, I am an avid reader and love discovering new authors. I love Dean Koonz (especially his early stuff) but not Stephen King. Love Nora Roberts too. Also into Detective stories/murders and a good historical romance. Please let me know your faves, so I can look out for some new reading material.

  • I’m not into any romance or typical “chick lit”, I’m more into crime, thrillers and murder type books. Michael Connolly and his Harry Bosch series are good.
Jeffrey Deaver does really good thrillers, especially the Lincoln Rhyme series.
Kathy Reichs is a real life Forensic Anthropologist and writes brillant novels.
Lee Childs and his Jack Reacher novels are very good.
Bryce Courtney novels are different to the above authors and very entertaining.

  • Diane Armstrong and Anita Shrieve are equal favorites for me.

  • I love Patricia Cornwell she is like oxygen. I try to read her books slowly but that’s an epic fail. Her stories are always full of suspense and intrigue. I also love her characters one can connect with them.

  • One of my faves is Marian Keys.. She’s funny and writes a good story

  • I like Nora Roberts and Terry Goodkind

  • I really like Liane Moriarty – she’s an Australian author so I find it great to know the places she sets her books up in. Every book of hers has been so engaging I literally can’t put the book down.

  • I like Fiona Higgins and Liane Moriarty.

  • I love the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. It is also a TV series now. It is time travel historical.
Also love anything by Clive Cussler. He is a prolific author. If you like his style you will have enough reading to last for a long time. He has written so much.

  • I really love Karen Robards! She writes thriller detective type novels and they’re fantastic, I can’t wait to read more of her books. I also love Dan Brown, The Davinci code and Angels and Demons were books I could not put down and would love to read them again! Hope this helps!

  • I love Natasha Lester too, an author from Perth. If you have the chance to read “A kiss from Mr. Fitzgerald” I can assure you that you won’t be disappointed.
    Here the blurp.

It’s 1922 in the Manhattan of gin, jazz and prosperity. Women wear makeup and hitched hemlines – and enjoy a new freedom to vote and work. Not so Evelyn Lockhart, forbidden from pursuing her passion: to become one of the first female doctors.

Chasing her dream will mean turning her back on the only life she knows: her competitive sister, Viola; her conservative parents; and the childhood best friend she is expected to marry, Charlie.

And if Evie does fight Columbia University’s medical school for acceptance, how will she support herself? So when there’s a casting call for the infamous late-night Ziegfeld Follies on Broadway, will Evie find the nerve to audition? And if she does, what will it mean for her fledgling relationship with Upper East Side banker Thomas Whitman, a man Evie thinks she could fall in love with, if only she lived a life less scandalous?

  • I’m currently into Dan Brown. He uses a lot of adjectives so you really get a good description of the scene and you can imagine being there.

  • Love Dean Koonz for my mystery with a touch of fear, Anne Rice is the epitome of a literary masterpiece, i challenge anyone to read her books and not be carried away and fall completely in love with the “people” (not characters) she weaves with her words. Jodi picoult is a must read too… oh i could go on all day.

  • Jodi Picoult is my absolute favourite. I also enjoy autobiographies or true stories. So interesting

  • Jodi Picoult is a great author – worth a try.

  • I also read books from the top 100 list that is released by Dymocks. I fall in love with old authors again and find new ones. I have a pile to read.
