Who decorates their house with Christmas decorations for Christmas? We would love to but just can’t afford it. Do you?

  • You don’t really need a lot of decorations. Even if you just decorate a table with a miniature tree surrounded by Christmas ornaments or Christmas cards can be all you need to feel festive.

  • Only the inside. But this year we are going to by starlight or star shower… Not sure what it’s called but it’s one light that you point at your house and your whole house is covered in lights. Quite pretty… Look it up on YouTube

  • My husband is starting to buy solar powered ones, a couple each year, doesn\’t chew up electricity and slowing getting more and more each year with the lights.

  • I think the houses look lovely but I DRAW THE LINE AT HUBBY getting up on the roof to put lights up! He is 70 but a very young 70 I do not want him falling off the roof. I WATCHED SOME YOUNG GUYS THE OTHER DAY PUTTING UP SOLAR PANELS on the roof next door and one of them almost fell. I NEARLY had heart failure. I was at the ready to help with 1st aid or call the ambos! We decorate a tree lavishly inside not as risky.

  • My husband puts a few lights up

  • we like to decorate the house but we can’t physically do it. So we have bought these big inflatables that you simply plug in and they blow themselves up and have a light in them. you can get santas, reindeers, snowmen, penguins, chimneys, sleighs and nativity scenes to name a few.

  • This was always a family tradition for us- we had a painted plywood Santa going down the chimney and his reindeers my dad would put on the roof with a big spotlight, mum would decorate our bay window with our big tree, all the decorations, train, and robotic Santa and Mrs Claus. Dad did all the lights around the eaves of the house. Our whole street used to get involved so we always had people walking around the street in December ^,^
They stopped once us kids were a bit older, but I can’t wait to do it for when my son is older!
Lights are a lot cheaper than they used to be too, according to my mum! They spent a fortune on outdoor lights, where now you can get them for around $20 in Big W. :)

  • yeah it is expensive hey but you can do inside and the windows. the kids will love it. start simple and every year you could buy a new set of lights or whatever.

  • Love using hone made ones. Paper snow flakes and paper chains can be made from newspaper – not as shiny as most, but still quite effective, especially if entwined around a large dry branch. Hope this helps!

  • I just decorate inside. Outside I just have a decoration on the door. No lights outside, even I find them so cute! :-)
