Hello!

I read in the paper that Woolworths have been working on lowering their prices. Just curious – for your families groceries who do you find is cheaper Woolworths or Coles?

  • I would have to say Coles is cheaper and also the Coles brand is much better then the Woolworths one

  • If I need to do a big grocery shop I will look at Coles Woolies and Aldi.
I will write down who has each item I need the cheapest and I find myself going to all 3 for different things.
My grocery shop in 1 store is roughly $200, if I get groceries from all 3 I save about $20 each shop

  • I’m lucky that I have Coles, Woolworths and Aldi all within walking distance so I usually check out their weekly specials and shop at that store. Aldi’s prices on general grocery items are usually a little cheaper.

  • I think they’re pretty similar on most things – though specials can make a difference sometimes.

  • I think overall Woolies but I always try to follow the specials for my regular items.

  • it depends on what you buy from each – they both work out cheaper than aldi for my household. I generally prefer coles but lately they’ve stopped stocking some of my favourite brands so I have no choice but to go to woolworths

  • I prefer Coles l think they have dropped prices of popular products and l can always find a bargain at this store

  • I have found Coles cheaper than Woolworths, although I do agree that Aldi is cheaper still but I don;t want to have to go to different shops for different things

  • I find Aldi cheaper than both Coles and Woolies, but I still shop at both Coles and Woolies for products that Aldi does not have. As far as price, I think Coles might be slightly cheaper.

  • Neither
We go to our local markets
    Fresher Fruit and veg
    And cheaper
We have saved heaps on food!

  • I am all for Coles

  • It really depends on what your buy and how you shop! I shop to the specials! I meal plan based on things on sale. Therefore its whoever has the best specials!

  • I think coles over woolies.
my mother who used to merchandise a lot of the products all over shops and she have said woolies were cheaper than coles… 5 years later, I’m unsure what her answer is as she doesn’t work anymore so would be interested what she has to say. I know aldi beats coles and woolies, but I have seen more stuff in coles than woolies, price different in both of them too.

  • In my experience Woolies has been cheaper. Maybe it also depends on what neighbourhood you are in.

  • It depends what I am getting – coffee specials at woolies are great, but baby formula is cheaper at Coles. I shop between the 2 to get the best deals :)
