I have only ever read hard copy books, but with this day and age everything is becoming electronic, who read electronic books and are they as good and the old hard back ones?

  • I love books! Both kinds. I found though that I was collecting too many paperbacks and it was turning into clutter. Now if I buy a book it’s electronic on my kindle. I have recently discovered the borrow box (free app) for iPad and I use it to borrow Ebooks from the library.

  • i like the real ones! can’t beat a good book. i have read ebooks and that is good if you are not sure that you will like a new author or book, it is cheaper to have a try at new things.

  • I still use hard copies, i like it better

  • Yeah I have a book case full of books too…

  • I have switched to a Kindle. I resisted for ages, because I though I wouldn’t enjoy it as much as a real book. But now I love it. I always have a book waiting to be read, and its small and light and I can slip it into my handbag to read while waiting for appointments, etc.

  • Definitely tho old fashion hard copy book is my choice!

  • I agree with MOM90758 – cookbooks. I love my hard copy cook books that are smudged with stains and well used and loved with all of my favourite recipes.

  • I love my hard copy books, the beautiful covers, the feel of the books, stacking them in the bookcase, curling up with a book and I just love my hard copy books. I do see the benefits of electronic books if travelling or in hospital or if short on space.

  • I think that slowly ebooks will become even more available to everybody. I don’t mind reading some ebooks sometimes. But for example there are some books that I absolutely WANT to have printed: picture books for children (ebooks are not the same in my idea, they don’t capture kids’ attention and interest the same way) and cooking books. I love owning my cooking books and ebooks are just not the same! :-)

  • I have a kindle which I love. Generally the books are cheaper (sometimes free) and you can buy a new book instantly if you decide at the last minute that you want to read a new book. I miss the feeling of buying a new book or spending hours in a book shop (before I had children!) but I love the convenience. I am also exposed to so many new authors as Amazon gives you recommendations based on your purchases.

  • Sorry but I forgot to mention. I now don’t have as many hardcopy books which means I don’t have to worried about where to put them, as the bookcase is full. As they are all stored in my kindle.
There are still some books that I buy hardcopy as they are not available in electronic format. Hope this helps

  • I have a Kindle & love it.
I buy the books at a cheaper rate then hardcopy books.
When I travel I can have as many books with as I want & it takes up the room of one small book in my shoulder bag. I have friends that also have a kindle & love theirs too but I also have friends that like to have the hard copy as they like the feel of it & actually turning the pages. I think it is just personal preferences.

  • I read sometimes some books on my iPod but I definitely prefer paper books!!

  • I have tried, but enjoy hard copies much more.
