I try and do wet and dry food. In clean bowls. A good range yet they look at me and seem to reluctantly eat sometimes.

  • We had a dog that wouldn’t eat anything with turkey in it. If she did relent and eat it she was sick.
A friend of mine has decided that he doesn’t like some cat food. We are wondering if the manufacturer has changed some of the ingredients like our food manufacturers do. He also won’t use the same kitty litter he used to use. He is an inside cat as he was previously a therapy cat for an elderly guy. Also in country areas they can get attacked by foxes even in the middle of reasonable size towns.

  • My dog is the same. I find if I change things up regularly, she eats better. So I buy things I know she eats (fresh mince, chicken carcasses, chicken necks, My Dog in foil trays etc) and that’s what she gets. I’ve found if I repeatedly feed her the same thing, even if she loves it, she will eventually not eat it. Doing it this way, I’ve discovered I can even slip in the occasional can of My Dog and she’ll eat it. Sometimes, the food can sit there for hours even a day, but she’ll eat. I believe cats are worse though

  • Cats are extremely fussy, stick with what they love the most!

  • Thanks! I found if I buy a kangaroo meat and give a small amount as quite rich. Then biscuits but get variety like one bag then when that’s gone get a different kind altogether. So not bored. I stay away from completely cheapest because they never touch them.

  • we find that too but they tend to eat when they are hungry even if they turned their noses up first

  • Cats must be one of the fussiest animals out. Our cat is 16 years old and he never really likes the same thing more then a few times. The amount of food we have given away is so much. I have found that our cat likes eating what we eat, so i try to get food that is similar to ours and most times he will eat it.

  • Maybe try different foods too after advice from vet or pet supply stores.

  • A chat with a vet about food can be beneficial.

  • My cat is the same, one thing she loves one minute and the next she hates it and turns her nose up at me when I give to her!

  • Perhaps try the real food stuff that’s made of kangaroo etc. Otherwise, they will eat eventually when they get hungry enough.

  • Where do you get catnip?

  • Could you sprinkle a bit of catnip?
