Hi mums, I¬†wonder why my bub is starting to push himself back whereas I thought crawling meant he’d start moving forward. Is it something that all babies do?

  • Nothing to worry about he is just learning

  • It’s just bub experimenting with movement, learning how to do it. Don’t worry, he’ll work it out and be flat out forward asap

  • yes babies do this and it can be so funny. nothing to stress about.

  • I have heard many bubs do this. I wouldn’t be too concerned.

  • All babies are different, my mum told me I crab crawled so I moved sideways.

  • It is quite normal. They are getting the feel of it

  • All children are different, one of mine never crawled just pulled himself up and used the furniture as hand holds. Another was 16 months before squirming became more. All children do it differently just maybe put things in front of bub to motivated to go forward. my grand daughter goes backward and sidewards, it is just a choice they make.

  • All babies crawl differently my two daughters were different my eldest crawled traditionally & my youngest crawled army crawl then up on one hand.
You could encourage him with toys in front of him. I’m sure he will crawl forward when he is ready

  • its all about learning dont stress the foward movement will follow.
