Hello!

A few mums have jokingly said lately they don’t want to tell their friends about Mouths of Mums and MoM Review because if there are more mums, it means there’ll be less chance of them being selected to review a product.

We can understand how you may think this (it’s a fair enough assumption) so thought we’d take the opportunity to let you know the way a MoM Review comes about and reinforce the fact that the more mums we have as members, the more clients will want to be involved and that then there will be more chances for everyone to review more products, receive samples and have more competitions to enter.

The team at Mouths of Mums are dedicated to making this site the first go-to point for mums wanting to read independant, objective and therefore highly trusted reviews of a product as well as have some fun, give and receive advice if they need it and get the inside scoop on all things new and exciting.

We’re a small site now but in the coming years we hope to have our mums reviewing everything from prams to groceries to books to holidays!  (wouldn’t that be amazing?) At the moment we spend our days making as many calls and sending as many emails as we can to all sort of companies that might be interested in having our mums review their products.  We tell them how many members we have, the way our MoM Review process works and what they need to do to be involved.

You’ll all know the partners that have been amazingly supportive as we’ve grown (just take a look at the reviews we’ve conducted so far) and just about every other company we’ve talked to has admired Mouths of Mums and what we’re trying to achieve for mum members as well as partners.  However lots of the people we talk to don’t feel we have enough members yet so decide to defer the review of their product or their participation in a competition.  They’d like to think that as many mums as possible will see their product on the site.

So when we have lots more members, we’ll go back to them, they’ll jump on board and we’ll have loads and loads of products for you to review.

So, it’s a “Chicken & the Egg”.  When we get lots more members and loads of activity on the Mouths of Mums site (yes it would be great if you could visit as often as you can), we’ll have lots more companies wanting to work with us which means there will be a higher chance you’ll be chosen more frequently to review products, there will definitely be more competitions for you to enter and we’ll certainly have loads more giveaways.

If you receive this newsletter, you’re a subscriber.  However you may not be registered for MoM Review.  If you’re not receiving the invitations to review products and would like to, you need to complete your registration details as fully as possible (give us your address, contact details, age of children etc).  Then you’ll start receiving invitations to review products.  To be eligible to participate in MoM Reviews, simply update Your Profile on Mouths of Mums.

What we’d like to do is to get our mums that are already members (and know it’s a great community to be a part of) to share the love.  Send a link to Mouths of Mums to your email buddies who are mums, like us on facebook so your friends find out about us or just plain talk about Mouths of Mums.  Every little bit helps!  And the closer we get to the magic number (when we know what that is, we’ll tell you) the more we’ll have to share with you.

We are working on some really great campaigns to reward you for sharing Mouths of Mums – stay tuned in Spring for that.  In the meantime, we’ll be launching a campaign in a week that really will need lots of members.  If we get enough tags, the company will agree to run the review.  And it’s AMAZING!  You’ll definitely want to review!

Thanks in advance for sharing the love.  We’re so lucky to have all you mums and can’t wait to bring you so much more over the next couple of years.

All the best,

The MoM Team.

  • I is unreal, l have had someone post a terrible post on Facebook late last year aimed at me even though she didn’t post my name l was the only one of the group posting publicly. This person got really nasty, said she couldn’t sleep, was anxious for days etc and how dare you(me) post publicly. By posting publicly more people would see comps that l had entered and her too apparently ( l couldn’t tell as her privacy was set so l couldn’t see anything she posted. Yet l was supposed to be stalking her LOL made me laugh LOL ). She said there was millions entering comps that she was entering hence reducing her chances of winning. Mind you she had won about 14 things in the Christmas giveaways.. Greedy or what. I had also won some prizes and couldn’t see why she would be so greedy and nasty. The sites or pages run comps and giveaways to bring people in or get the brand or name out there. I share because my loyalty is to the site or page that is running the comp. It’s their bread and butter. If l decide to share to friends (which is what the other lady usually posts but is lucky if the too friends is one family member or a close friend.) it might only be 1 or 2 that are on that list. That might bring someone over but more chance if all my friends were able to see the posts. Sometimes entering comps or trying to get into a review really does bring out the worst in people. Some one asked why l don’t block her since her post. My answer if l am causing her such anxiety but posting comps then l am afraid she isn’t going to be getting much sleep……She doesn’t want to see them let her block me.. But then she wouldn’t be able to stalk me to enter things.
