Getting away for the weekend can work wonders for your mind and body. You will feel so refreshed and relaxed when you return. You will be ready to face the week and take care of your family after a little getaway. Where do you go when you need to reboot? There are lots of great options for mum getaways and little adventures to take. You can hit the beach, hide in a spa hotel or you can simply take to nature. There is a world of possibilities out there depending on where you want to go and what you are in the mood for. Here are some great ideas for a weekend getaway. Start planning now and check out these places when you do!

Bed And Breakfast

Staying at a bed and breakfast is a great idea for a little weekend getaway. You can enjoy the small home like feel of the establishment while still being pampered. You could choose an elegant location like the Cheskin House or you could go for a more rustic feel in the mountains. The options are endless. Check out options in your area or consider going a little farther out of town for a getaway. You deserve to be waited on and taken care of for a while.

Beach Getaways

Hitting the beach is always fun. While most people think it is a family destination, you can really have fun at a mum’s weekend away. You can grab some girlfriends and stay on the beach or you can go for a little rest and relaxation. Either way you can enjoy some lounging time by the pool or on the beach and relax.

Spa Hotel

Consider getting away to a spa. You can typically find hotels that are inclusive and pay for a full spa package. They often times have packages that include a day trip to their spa or a special spa treatment along with the price of your room. You can even pamper yourself for a couple of days if you like. Taking time to relax and enjoy the spa treatment is important. You could find yourself having a long massage, a manicure and pedicure, or even getting a new look in the salon while you are there. Spa hotels are a nice getaway for any mum or girl’s weekend away.

Mountain Cabin

If you are close enough you could also consider a cabin in the mountains to take some time away. This is a great place to get back to nature and refresh yourself with relaxation. You can go shopping and enjoy some retail therapy while you are at it as well. There are many options of staying in the mountains or just finding a cute little cottage that can get you away from it all.

Remember that you need to take time to relax and refresh yourself as you are taking care of your family. Pamper yourself and enjoy a spa treatment or hit the antique shops in the local town. You can have a great weekend getaway and come back ready to care for your family with renewed vigor!

Marie loves to take days to refresh as a mum. She highly recommends a great bed and breakfast such as the Cheskin House or a little beach retreat. Taking care of mum is just as important as taking care of the family!

  • I agree open-ended play is the best. I also see the importance of structured play.

  • My girlfriend and I did this last year and it was amazing – 3 days in Bali with no children…. now to start planning for the next one :-) Getting out of the country altogether certainly helped to relax us both and create that me time and space.

  • I love to go down the coast from Adelaide, to somewhere like Victor Harbour, Port Elliot or Goolwa. It’s amazing how much better you feel if you can have even a couple of days away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

  • Ah, Cheskin House looks beautiful, but it’s probably a bit far for a weekend trip. Thanks for the daydream though.
