Mum-of-seven shares a hilarious rant about parents who take too long to change their babies’ dirty nappy in public spaces.

Tara Wood, a writer from Georgia, filmed what she called a ‘car confessional’ in a Target’s parking lot after experiencing the smell of a baby’s diaper, and vented about parents who waste time asking their babies ‘if they have a poopy’, instead of running to the nearest restroom to change them as soon as possible.

Tara explains after a mum at Target asked her four month old baby for the third time if he had a dirty nappy she just HAD to say something. Sitting in your own poop would not be nice at all!

Tara points out in the video, if YOU can smell your baby’s poop then so can half the customers in the store.

‘If you are in public with your baby who has obviously had catastrophic diarrhea and has this horrific odor around him that has, like, weight and mass and there’s green fog circulating around him and he smells like he just s*** out a dead man, everyone else can smell that too,’ said Tara.

‘So when you say, “Oh, Jameson are you pooping?” Um, yeah. Jameson is not going to answer you. But I will.’

“That’s why after the third time this lady today at Target asked Jameson, who was maybe four months old, if he had a poopie, I said, “I’d like to confirm that Jameson does have a poop and there’s a family restroom at the front of Target and you should probably take him there to change him.'”

When asked by DailyMail.com if she really approached the mum about her baby’s dirty diaper, Tara said she indeed had.

‘I was pretty polite but yes, I let her know there was a family restroom at the front of the store where she could change her baby’s diaper,’ she said. ‘I’m sure she already knew but I was trying to nudge her a bit because it was super odoriferous.’

She posted the hilarious video to her Facebook page, where it has gathered over 70,000 views.

  • Haha, good on her. I always changed my babies nappies quickly but I’m sure at tjmes the smell offended other people. Now my kids are older it annoys me too!

  • lol i’m just going to modify the comment underneath mine as it hilarious!
-she should be “pegging” her own nose instead of sticking it into other people’s “business”-

  • I’d mind my own business.

  • She shouldn’t be stickynosing into other peoples business.

  • I played the video, but had no volume for me, though my computer speaker/s are set to the top. Reading the text, maybe she could have said it a bit different, leaving out the fact that she reckon the baby had certainly filled the nappy, and just informed the mum that there was a toilet change room facility at the front of the store (just in case the mum didn’t know)

  • I think it was rude
But I wouldn’t leave my child sitting in a dirty nappy either

  • Well, it’s a bit rude, and some people have good reason for not racing off instantly.

  • I would agree with Tara although I probably wouldn’t tell the person to change it. It wouldn’t be very comfortable for an adult to sit in its own poo so why should a baby?

  • Some children have a lot of wind. As for myself, I have had no sense of smell from birth or young age. So I would never be able to tell by smell alone only if child was un comfortable or I decided to check the nappy. I have seen my son gag at his daughters nappies which to me it does not matter.

  • First World issues…really! Was she following this woman around? Hate it when people butt into other people’s business

  • I think she definitely could have said something a bit lighter. That could’ve easily come across quite condescending. Who knows what kind of day that other mum was having. I’m sure she wasn’t planning on leaving her baby in a dirty nappy – maybe she was trying to get her stuff done quickly so she didn’t have to go back. People are so quick to judge, criticise & rant these days. She could have reworded what she said with a lot more kindness while still making a point.

  • I think it a bit rude to be honest.

  • I get her point, but it’s a little mean. If the smell offends her she could always remove herself from the situation and rant to her friends if she needs to rant about it publicly. Mums are busy enough criticising themselves, they don’t need more criticism from others.

  • When my son was a baby he was a farter of disgusting odours. I always changed him pretty quick but there were some days there was just nothing in the to change no matter how bad the smell was or how long it lingered.
