Mum hits back at trolls who shamed her supermarket trolley full of ‘unhealthy’ food.

Mother-of-four, Constance Hall, shared a picture of her shopping trolley to her thousands of Facebook followers – not knowing she would soon be facing vicious comments over her grocery choices.

The 33-year-old posted a snap of her groceries as her daughter, Snow, sat on the front of the trolley.

Her caption read: “Me “going to Woolies, got a lot to buy so no kids are coming”.

Snow “cool story”.

Soon after sharing the image, Constance was attacked with negative comments from trolls who judged her for the ‘unhealthy’ food in her trolley and her ‘poorly organised’ method of stacking the products.

‘For f**** sake. Getting mum judged on your anti mum judging page. Then everyone attacks the judgey mum even though you’re an advocate for women sticking together,’ Constance wrote.

‘And if I was to drink the stiff bottle of scotch that this thread made me want to drink I’d be judged for that. The bananas and celery and carrots and potatoes and onions and garlic and mandarins and apples aren’t visible in this picture.’

‘Wasn’t thinking about trolley angles.’

She added, “”I also buy a lot of fruit from the markets and Denims mum is bringing us fresh fruit from her trees today. Should I post the receipt?”

Many of her fans jumped to her defence urging the trolls to get off their ‘high horses’.

‘I knew people would start analysing the contents of the trolley. She’s a mum feeding her family. Well done mum,’ one woman wrote.

‘Seriously peeved about the healthy food comments. I buy my fruit and veg an meat separately to my pantry items so it may look like I buy junk as well,’ another said.

‘Con has eggs, yoghurt, bread, butter, milk weetbix and rice bubbles with a treat of what looks like some pancakes and dips and noodles for a quick easy dinner.’

Seriously?! We are now even judging the way someone stacks their grocery trolley? I didn’t even realise there was a proper way? ARGH!

If her trolley was full of chocolate biscuits, lollies and pizza it is STILL no one’s business, when will the trolls realise that?

Yesterday we shared how Megan Gale hit back at the judgemental parents having a dig at her for daring to go on date night just a week after having her second child. Read that HERE.

  • keyboard warriors – constance is great – love her honest posts and her underlying theme is always women sticking together.

  • I would never dream of commenting on what someone had in their trolley but, then again, I would never post a pic to social media – you open yourself up to both negative and positive comments when doing so, so why lay yourself open to abuse?

    • I have commented on trolley contents before. A friend with a baby had a trolley full of pre packaged, ready made meals. Both mum and dad and even the dog are overweight! So I commented on it, it was seriously lacking nutrition for a baby

  • Some people should bite a piece of their tongue.

  • You are never going to please anyone with what is in your trolley. You do not know what they are shopping for. This morning a woman had her trolley half full of cabbages, I wondered to myself but it was her shopping not mine. Did wonder though were cabbages on special at a low price .

  • I shop at 3 different supermarkets, one for all my veg and dairy needs, one for my laundry and cleaning needs and one for my cocoa puffs, people would have a feild day seeing only cocoa puffs in my trolley or no veg at all at the 2nd shop

    • We also shop at different places for food – fruit and veg at the markets, meat and the other markets and basics at other stores. I also buy in bulk at Costco and stockpile toilet rolls and cleaning products. I did get a wow once at all of the loo rolls in my trolley and just smiled. I smiled because I save $ and never care what anyone thinks about my choices. :)

  • I’m sorry but its know ones business what you buy at the supermarket! A nicer thought would be awesome she’s ensuring her kids are well fed!

  • I don’t care what is in anyone else’s trolley and don’t care about their opinion of the contents of my trolley. Whatever is shared will be commented on; some will like some will loathe.

  • Once again, each to their own!

  • If she wants to post it online she’s opening herself up to criticism. She of all people should understand that. But I know she hates causing a fuss that gets her any attention so I’m sure she’s laying back loving the publicity.

  • It is none of their business what goes in her shopping trolley, some people need to get a life!

  • People are so quick to judge about anything now days. I think these people should mind their own business as I’m sure they aren’t perfect!!

  • I don’t know why people bother doing this. Mind you, I don’t have much time for Constance Hall, either.

  • Really, it looks like a lot of people don’t know what to do with their time. Just judging, that’s it.

  • Again social media and it’s mediocrity.
