Mum upset at the birthday cake police for ruining her young child’s birthday celebrations at school.
Mum shares, “It’s my three-year old’s birthday coming up soon and she will be having a party at her pre-school.
“The pre-school usually makes the birthday cake with the kids and then mum & dad come in the morning of the party and ice the cake with the birthday child and decorate it with sprinkles etc.
“This year, I was told that they are no longer doing icing or sprinkles on the cake as this is UNHEALTHY! The teachers said we’re lucky we’re even allowed to serve a cake! Seriously! I was fuming.
“It’s my daughter’s special day and she can’t even have some fun coloured frosting on her cake.
“Isn’t all about having things in moderation? I am just so mad about this! Are you pro or anti-cake?”
Mums share their schools policy
One mum agreed saying, “How is it cake if theres no sugar o.0 taking the icing off makes it a muffin or a bread/loaf. This is just absurd!”
Another said, “Find a new preschool. Birthdays are all about the cake for kids.”
Another shared, “People are just trying to ruin everyone’s fun these days! I’m all for healthy choices but 1 tiny piece of cake on your birthday isn’t going to make you obese or have health issues!”
“I think it’s ridiculous too! I get if there is a kid in the class with allergies you have to have something else or whatever, but if everyone can have cake…have the cake”, shared another.
“Whats the point of cake with no icing?! Yeah nah…”
“Everyone’s become ridiculous with stupid rules.”
“It’s too stupid for words!”
While other mums suggested to just host your own party and have whatever cake you want.
“Do it at home – teachers have enough work.”
“Have the cake at home!”
“So just do a ‘healthy‘ cake at pre-school and a ‘fun’ cake at home…? She doesn’t have to miss out just because she can’t have it at pre-school!”
“Just have a cake at home? When I was at school our cake was made out of polystyrene and we survived. I really don’t think there’s a need for a cake at school/daycare/kinder, especially when there’s 20+ other kids who have a birthday too.”
“If that’s the rules at the preschool then follow them and have the cake of your choice at home. ”
