A mother with a debilitating disease has slammed driver who left a note on her car for parking in a disabled parking spot.

The mother, from Cairns in north Queensland, found the note on her car after visiting the doctor with one of her children, shares Daily Mail.

‘This park is for people with disabilities. Not for able-bodied mothers with babies. Shame on you,’ the note read.

The mother said that although she did park in a disabled spot while looking ‘able-bodied,’ she had a disease which meant the white blood cells attacked every bone in her body.

She also said she didn’t usually park in disabled parking spots, but did on this occasion due to the amount of pain she was in.

‘Next time before you judge think about what you’re about to do because on top of my illness and pain I have cried all the way home,’ she wrote.

It’s unclear whether the woman owned a disabled parking permit.

  • People judge way too often without knowing the full story. You dont have to look disabled to be disabled.

  • People are way too quick to judge. She probably has a permit.

  • This poor lady, I hope she has more better days.

  • Very sad for the poor lady to be judged so harshly when she was having a difficult time!

  • disappointing that someone has done this.

I can understand if the woman didn’t have a disability parking permit that was showing how that would annoy someone especially if the person who wrote the note was disabled themselves and required the parking space. But the note really could have been written in a nice manner to get the point across rather than the one left for this lady.

  • The joys of those that are too quick to judge.

  • One should also check that there is a disabled sticker on the car before doing something like this – many complaints don’t outwardly show.

  • I can’t believe people will go as far as to leave a nasty note on someone else car without knowing their story. Its so insensitive and rude.

  • Unfortunately lots of people are quick to judge before knowing anything

  • Unfortunately it’s not allowed if you don’t have a disabled permit. I don’t think women in labour are allowed to park in a disabled spot because they’re in pain. Or anyone in pain. Hope she’s able to get a permit so she can as living with pain is awful.

  • I notice these spots spend a lot of time empty. They’re right next to the shopping centre entrance. I can sort of understand why people are tempted to use these. But also understand the frustration of disabled when they cant use these spots

  • you need to display a disabled ticket if you want to park in a disabled spot.

  • No displayed permit no parking whether you think you need it or not

  • When she has a disability permit she can sure park there. But when she hasn’t she officially shouldn’t. Personally I think this woman had a good reason to park there, the only thing is that her reason isn’t visible for others. I do believe that disability parking spots are frequently misused I understand this is most unpleasant for those who are disabled and need it.
