Mum shares clever Kmart hack to help make bathing a new baby less stressful.

WA Mum, Courtney Frew, shared an adorable photo of her baby Scarlett in the bath at home – gently floating in a self-made contraption of a pillowcase with a pool noodle helping to keep the baby afloat.

‘Pool noodle in the pillowcase FTW!! Bubba loved floating in the bath,’ the young mother posted on the Kmart Mums Australia Facebook page – confessing she used a $3 pool noodle and an old Kmart pillowcase to create the hack.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia Ms Frew said she had to admit that it wasn’t her own idea – she had seen it online in the past and wanted to share it with the other Kmart mums.

‘I can’t take full credit as I’ve seen it before, but I just wanted to share it with the mums because as soon as I tried it I knew it was worth sharing,’ she told FEMAIL.

‘Having a newborn in the bath is hard enough, I can struggle to support her head and fluff about with the soap and cloths,’ she continued.

‘But she loves how the pillowcase naturally supports her body like her rocker. And I can comfortably wash her and pour water over her body while she splashes and kicks around.’

A NSW mum recently shared her clever Kmart hack to help wash her autistic daughters hair after struggling with huge meltdowns. Check her idea out here.

  • My last child would have hated this. He hated being anywhere near water until he could sit and hang on to things while being bathed. He loves the water now, but it was awful until he was about 4 months old. Never ever found out why he hated it so much.

  • you would have to be so vigilant in using that method and kids gain weight and grow so quickly that i would be afraid to try that.

  • What a great idea! Those pool noodles have many uses other than for floating in the pool. Yay!

    • I love pool noodles – they do have many purposes. I use them for exercises in the pool – perfect for balance and resistance too.

  • I don’t think I would use the same names as my sibling’s children.
I only have a brother, I think there are plenty of names to choose from. Maybe if it’s after a grandparent then I would have to say one child perhaps could be the same if they really both liked it for one each if they’re children. Although for both I think that’s
    a bit too much.
