Mum DIYs a ‘Balls Voyage’ party to celebrate her husband’s vasectomy.

Inspired by the Real Housewives of Orange County, Kimberly Hemperly, a Washington state Mum of two, decided to throw her husband a party to celebrate his vasectomy. Featuring sausage related food, a cake with a sperm headstone and ‘swim team survivor’ shirts for her two children, Kimberly, her husband and their friends celebrated in style.

Getting Creative

The hilarious Mum first got the idea from an episode of the Real Housewives of Orange County. “One of the wives threw her husband a ‘Balls Voyage’ party, however hers was on a yacht with a ton of booze. I didn’t have those luxuries so I came up with my own celebration!” Kimberly told Parents.com. “I’ve had two C-sections and he offered to have the procedure done so I wouldn’t have to get yet another surgery.”

Taking One For The Team

Announcing the news on Facebook, Kimberly wrote, “We have an announcement to make! We are thrilled to say we will NOT be adding any more time humans to our family! My husband is taking one for the team and to celebrate this momentous occasion, I felt the need to throw him a little ‘Balls Voyage’ party for his upcoming procedure. Because omg y’all, no one is more excited about this than me!” And to add to the excitement, the whole thing was a total surprise for her husband, with Kimberly telling POPSUGAR “He loved it and thought it was very thoughtful and hilarious!”

Not All Positive

Whilst most reactions to Kimberly’s post have been positive, she admits some people just haven’t seen the humour in the situation. “Since the post has gone ‘viral’ so many are quick to judge and be spiteful,” she told POPSUGAR. “I just wanted to show my husband some support for doing something so selfless and caring for his wife.”

Despite the controversy surrounding the idea, we think being able to plan the family that suits you and your partner best is definitely something to celebrate! And what a hilarious way to do it! More power to Kimberly we say.

  • We’re all different. When this was reason for a party to this couple and they had fun, then why not ?

    • But personally I wouldn’t throw a party for this

  • Any excuse for a party and it was to show her husband how much him doing this meant to her.

  • Um… no. I think things like this a personal and open for discussion amongst close friends but not for public adoration or consumption!!! That’s just me though.

  • If it makes them happy then why not? A friend of mine had a period party right before her hysterectomy. Don’t see the big deal!

  • What a great idea, perhaps it might encourage other men to take the snip. As for those that think if the marriage doesn’t last and he may want children with a future wife, well no one would ever do anything if we all thought ‘what if?’ Honestly lighten up people, if it’s not for you that’s fine, no ones forcing you, these people just had a bit of fun with a subject that maybe needs more discussion and encouragement, after all it’s a small procedure for a man but major surgery for a woman, Good on them both.

    • I like your thinking and thanks for expressing your views.

  • Whatever floats your boat – so long as they both enjoyed the party, why not?
