The “Off-grid” parents who’s youngest child wee’d on the studio floor during a morning show appearance were reported for ‘child cruelty’.

You may recall the story last year of UK morning show, This Morning, hosts Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes interview with self described “Off-grid” parents about their parenting techniques when their youngest child wandered off to wee on the studio floor, whilst live on air.

“Off-grid parents” Matt and Adele Allen were being interviewed by hosts about their decision to refuse schooling, refuse vaccinations and traditional medicine and how they also have an extremely relaxed approach in regards to rules for their two children.

The footage left some viewers reeling with many taking to social media to express disgust at the behaviour of the children and the fact that their child is allowed to pee on the floor.

The parents of the toddler have since revealed they were visited by social services following the incident, shares The Mirror.

“[They] were appalled, calling our children ‘feral’ and ‘out of control,” she told That’s Life magazine.

“Yet vindictive trolls reported us to social services. ‘Come in’, I told the social worker when she made a home visit. ‘I’ve nothing to hide.’

“She left, satisfied they were happy and healthy.”

It is so frustrating to read of soooo many innocent young lives being taken in domestic violence cases, yet parents who might do things a bit different to the norm are investigated over silly little reports.

Does this upset you to hear of wasted resources, or is any case worth investigating?

Glad social services found the kids happy and healthy.

    • I am also glad the children were found to be in no need of social services. There is a lack of understanding possibly about what living off the grid means. Living off the grid or living an alternative lifestyle does not equate with neglect or abuse. This can occur in all sorts of family situations and set ups.

  • It is probably the law that your children have to attend school unless there is genuine serious medical problems. Even children with uncontrolled Epilepsy go to school and may at a special needs school or in a special needs class at a mainstream school. Then sometimes you are allowed to home school them.
How old is the youngest child? The parents probably weren’t even paying attention to the children.

  • Resources are so precious and there has to be good reason usually for cases to be investigated. I am surprised that trolls reporting this to welfare was taken seriously. On the upside it will put the trolls campaign to bed.

  • I agree if there is an issue it needs to be addressed.

  • I don’t think it’s a waste of resources to investigate something. Would take a few minutes to see the kids were fine. Better safe than sorry.

  • Any concern for a child’s well being is always worth investigating.
