A mummy blogger accused of injecting urine into her young daughter’s jugular vein finally has her day in court.
Previously we shared that a 42-year-old woman was charged with using poison to endanger life or inflict grievous bodily harm, and another of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, after her little girl went into life-threatening renal failure in March last year, reports The Daily Telegraph.
The case against the mummy blogger and former midwife who allegedly poisoned her own sick daughter is “very complex, involving very detailed and extensive medical evidence”, a court heard.
Police allege the Hunter Valley mother, who can’t be named, injected her young daughter’s jugular vein with urine causing the girl to go into life-threatening renal failure.
Her child suffers from a rare immune deficiency disease but survived her alleged poisoning after treatment in hospital.
Prior to her arrest, the mother gained an international following after posting frequent observations about parenthood on an internet blog.
Many were about the daughter she allegedly poisoned, and her ongoing medical treatment.

Update 5 April 2018
The woman has been committed to stand trial on charges of allegedly injecting urine into her daughter’s jugular vein.
A former midwife who blogged about her daughter’s ill health, is due to face the NSW District Court in Newcastle on Thursday, according to the Courier Mail.
Police allegedly found syringes, laxatives, and urine samples in the mother’s handbag, leading detectives to investigate back to 2008.
Police allege that as well as injecting her daughter with urine, the mother also regularly fed her laxatives which caused peeling skin and a severe rash.
A court heard two years ago that the case was “very complex, involving very detailed and extensive medical evidence”.
The accused mother has remained on bail, but is due to appear in the District Court where she has been committed for trial.
