Mum shares clever use for women’s sex toy to ease her baby’s chest congestion – and parents are loving it.

Facebook page Melons and Cuties shared the image captioned: “Our customer shares her remedy for chest congestion!! Use on baby’s back while sitting in a steamy bathroom. Brilliant!!!”

The post has since been shared over 15,000 times, and has over 39,000 comments from people who are impressed and amused by the hack.

One wrote: “HILARIOUS!!! But also a BRILLIANT representation of how motherhood requires you to be resourceful lol REAL LIFE”.

A mum agreed: “Just because something has a sexual purpose some of the time does not mean that’s the only thing it’s good for. This logic also applies to people.

The method is actually not that unusual. Medics often use vibrations to help clear the airways.

Melons and Cuties added: “Thank you all for keeping the comments supportive (mostly). It’s good to see mums encouraged to use things readily available to help with wellness and not be shamed for it!”

We have shared before some clever tricks from mums using vibrators to help with mastitis and even to help baby sleep!

  • haha sometimes as a mum you just have to do what you have to do. If it works and isn’t dangerous, then go ahead. Baby might be a bit embarrassed when they grow up and find out though lol

  • So as I am posting my previous comment here, my 13 year old daughter came in the room. I tried to click on another window to get rid of the picture of the vibrator and this avoid that conversation. I clicked on my emails – only to see the invite email to this article, with the same picture ! Thankfully I had something tame open in facebook :)) :))
