A NEW mum got her own back on a stranger claiming to be a Juice Plus rep who branded her fat.

Jessica McArthur, 23, was contacted out of the blue on social media 10 months after the birth of her baby, shares The Sun.

The new mum says she “worked hard” to get her figure back following the birth of her daughter. So you can imagine her surprise when she got a message saying: “I’m guessing you want to lose the mum tum you’ve got?”

Jessica said: “I was shocked. It makes me wonder if Juice Plus reps are targeting people who they know will be insecure and vulnerable.

“I had anorexia as a teenager and I would have spent so much money on those products in a desperate attempt to lose more weight. They could have made me worse.

“When you’re a new mum, your body has already changed quite a bit anyway.

“It’s hard to think how badly affected some women could be by this. She called me fat.

“I’ve worked hard to get my body back after giving birth and I’m proud of it.

“How many people have spent money that they should be spending on their baby on this?

“They may think they’re helping people lose weight healthily but it could very easily go the opposite way.

“I don’t think it’s very ethical if reps are targeting news mum specifically.”

When Jessica, who is proud of her post-baby body, sent back a picture of her flipping the bird while showing off her abs, the tone got nasty.

The person then sent a string of expletives, saying: “F*** off you fat b****.

“You could of tried it so you didn’t look like a fat c***…. Enjoy being a fatty for life babes.”

Jessica added that she found it unsettling how the person must have looked her up to know she recently had baby.

She added: “She must have been on my Facebook to ascertain I was a parent then targeted me.

“It’s a bit weird – it was like she was specifically seeking out new mums by her message.

“Someone else in my area had received the same message from her and they also had a baby.

“I’d never spoken to her in my life and she just popped up in my message requests telling me I needed her product.

Jessica reported the incident to Juice Plus, who launched an investigation into the identity of the person, but claimed they found no record of them on their database.

A spokesperson said: “The Juice Plus+ Company would like to sincerely apologise to Jessica and to anyone else who felt understandably upset by the content contained in the message from the independent representative.

“Having looked through our system and any internal database, we are unable to locate any representatives under the same details used by this Facebook user.”

Jessica added the Facebook account had since been deleted.

  • Social media again at fault.

  • A lot of juices including those with no added sugar still have a lot of natural sugar in them. Too much sugar causes some people to gain quite a bit of weight. It’s rather hypocritical of the rep.

  • Unbelievable what this Juice Plus rep blurted out to the mum, totally unacceptable !!
I certainly would report her, she’s unsuitable for this job.

  • As if they’d never heard of her! If this is the tactics they use then deny all knowledge of their reps they won’t be in business for long.

  • How rude. I hope she reported them
