Hello!

Got a special birthday coming up or perhaps you missed out on your celebration due to COVID? Well, now you can book your own private cinema party for only 500 bucks!

The pandemic hasn’t been kind to many businesses and movies are certainly in struggle street. Not only did they have to close their doors for over four months, but with social distancing rules, they can only fill up around one third of their cinema space. We went to two movies during the recent school holidays and the cinema was eerily quiet.

Plus all that candy bar goodness is highly restricted with no more self-serve popcorn, slushies or frozen Coke. All treats are now pre-packed and customer limits are strictly enforced.

Your Own Private Cinema Party

But there is one silver lining in a cinematic stream of darkness. Event Cinemas are hiring out full movie houses for private use. And they’re selling off the privilege at dirt cheap prices.

For a limited time only, you can book your own cinema for just $500, with the Event Cinema special private booking package.

You Had Us At Unlimited Popcorn And Drink!

The package includes your own private cinema for up to 20 people and you can pick the movie of your choice, including a range of new releases, cult classics, family favourites and many more. PLUS each guest gets unlimited medium popcorn and soft drink. Each booking also comes with a host for the event.

You can pick your cinema location, date and time throughout July and August and bookings need to be made by 31 July 2020.

This means for only $25 per person, you can host a memorable movie party, a swish private cinema event, with your choice of flick and unlimited snacks and refreshments. This is the most awesome offer we’ve seen for ages.

  • Though not the same deal, also try independents such as Ritz or Palace cinemas as they have always allowed you to purchase from their bar and take in your drink and snacks, and also take group bookings including children’s parties, though don’t always run the same movies as the larger chains. Or book out Hoyts Lux or Event Cinemas Gold class with a bunch of friends. Hoyts Chatswood now has day beds too.

  • It can be much less than that. Both my girls have had private cinema parties for their birthdays. My youngest has hers this coming weekend and it’s only $300 for 50 kids!

  • This is a fantastic idea to encourage cinema use. The local Reading Cinemas was offering the same however, Melbourne lockdown has nipped that in the bud for now.
