NRL star Josh Reynolds has spoken about losing his twin boys just weeks before they were due to be born…

West Tigers star Josh Reynolds has spoken publically for the first time after his partner Bella suffered a miscarriage just weeks before their twin boys were to be born. Josh said that all the preparations had been made for the twin’s arrival but sadly passed away just eight weeks before their due date.

A Difficult Time

Josh says that the couple were thrilled when they discovered they were having twins. “When I found out that we were having twin boys I was over the moon,” he said. “I just love them and I was ready to take that step.” The NRL star admits that he struggled to deal with the loss and support his grieving partner. “It’s made me deal with something in life that I didn’t think I would have to deal with,” he said. “How do I comfort her when I’m struggling myself? I was really shocked but I wanted to be a man and be there for her too.”

Despite such a difficult loss, Josh says he is doing his best to move forward. “That was something in life I’ve always wanted but I’ve sort of had to go along the lines that everything happens for a reason,” he told Channel Seven.

We really admire Josh for his willingness to speak about his experience of baby loss. The more it is spoken about, the less isolating it becomes, and the more that people realise that support is available.

  • Just 8 weeks before their due date! What would have caused they to pass away at this late stage? Why didn’t any of the medical check ups show anything untoward? Such an awful thing to go through……

  • How tragic what she must have gone through physically and emotionally is tough. I hope they both find some peace.

  • Its so hard to deal with – these parents are talking about it and not trying to keep it in the dark so it will be helpful for both of them. Feel so sorry for them though especially as they are in the limelight so to speak.

  • How horrible for both the kid and the parent. What an awful person to hurt a child like that!
Well done Kmart for doing the right thing.

  • It is good that they had each other for support. My husband will not even acknowledge out babies that were lost. It was hard dealing with it with no family around and that we were not in a proper home for some of them. As the years go by it can get easier to deal with but the hurt really never goes away. The answer is not to have another baby as that baby is different. Twins would had been hard to lose.

  • I am a Wests Tigers supporter but don’t follow the players personal lives so I didn’t know about this. So sad. :(

  • How sad for them. I lost a baby at 8 weeks, I can’t imagine losing a baby only a few weeks before they’re meant to be born. It is good though that he’s speaking out about it as I think it will help a lot of people going through the same thing

  • I had so many miscarriages I’ve lost count. Most were at 6-8 weeks and one was at 3 1/2 months. We were very lucky to have 2 boys. There is 9 years between them but they are very close.

  • That’s heart breaking, I know of many people who have lost newborns at it’s the worst, thoughts are with them.

  • I lost my first born son Elijah at 29 weeks. This year it would be four years since that dreadful day and the loss and Grief never leaves. Both my husband always find it hard on when his birthday comes around. But I am thankful that from losing Elijah we were blessed with a daughter and a son since and they both know they have an older brother in heaven.
God bless you Josh and Bella. Everything will be ok ????
