Little girl sadly loses her battler with cancer after receiving treatment for a brain turmour in Mexico.

In June we shared that little Annabelle Nguyen, 5, was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2015 and wasn’t meant to live past her fourth birthday.

According to a GoFundMe page, Annabelle’s mother, Sandy, noticed she was “rubbing her eyes nearly every night she had a night terror that work her up screaming and crying”.

Ms Nguyen rushed her to hospital, and it was later determined she had a tumour. The family tried Chinese medicine in Vietnam, but when that didn’t work the parents, despite recommendations not to, flew her to Mexico for treatment.

Parents, Sandy and Choong Nguyen sold everything, including their home so they could seek treatment in Mexico. In February, doctors in Mexico told the family Annabelle’s cancer was gone.

“I was just speechless, I couldn’t say anything. I didn’t cry, I didn’t laugh I didn’t do anything. I was like ‘are you serious?’. It was unbelievable,” Ms Nguyen told 7 News.

Sadly, Annabelle’s tumours had since returned and she lost her fight on Thursday in Mexico after being in a coma for the past 3 months.

Ms Nguyen confirmed her daughter had lost her battle on Thursday, saying Annabelle died “peacefully in my arms this morning”.

Waking up for the first time without her girl, Ms Nguyen shared a heartbreaking message to her daughter on Facebook on Friday.

“Annabelle, it is the first day I won’t get to see your beautiful face anymore.”

“Annabelle, you’re very loved. We love you very much Annabelle, rest now baby.

“You are free now, no more cancer, no more pain and no longer trap in your own body.”

  • So sad. I can think of nothing worse then one of my children dying. Whether it’s an accident or a horrible disease that takes them, it would be life crushing

  • Annabelle is at peace and no longer suffering. Even if they had continued conventional treatment she may still have still succumbed to be horrid disease

  • I cannot imagine the pain and devastation of having a child die. But to have to nurse that child for months, watching her fight and suffer, so incredibly hard.

  • Absolutely heartbreaking for this girl. It’s hard to read knowing money plays a big role in whether she gets help she needs. The hospital should understand the situation and let this poor little girl get better without thinking of $$$$
