Thankfully he was found safe and sound and reunited with his mum. But I think they need to find out why a 3 yo was wandering the streets alone

I am glad the little boy’s Mother has been located. I wonder if he sleep walks. I know of at least 2 children who sleep walk one still does it occasionally.
These days you don’t necessarily have to have the key to unlock a screen door. They have a “latch” that a toddler can reach, push it, then all they have to do is reach up to the handle and open the door. We proved that the handles on the 1950s built houses are higher than those built in the last few years. Sadly just removing the key of some doors doesn’t solve the issue.

Luckily he’s again with his family! What had happened then?

That is a relief! They are such great escape artists these days, we have locks on everything to keep our 2 year old inside!
