A food delivery service popular with Instagram influencers has suddenly collapsed, leaving thousands of customers devastated and hungry.

Last week, customers of online meal plans service Five Point Four were left without their pre-paid meals after the Brisbane-based company shut down unexpectedly.

The company had stockists across, NSW, VIC and Qld.

The company lodged a notice of administration to the Australian Securities and Investments Commission on Friday.

‘In the face of increasing competition and our cost to serve, we have made the really difficult decision to stop taking orders with immediate effect as of today,’ the company said in an email sent to customers last Wednesday.

“For our customers with future prepaid orders, the customer service team will be working diligently to process your refund and will be in touch over the coming days.

“Thank you for being part of the 5.4 family and wish you all the best in reaching your health goals in the future.”

Customers received the email telling them any future orders would ‘unfortunately not be delivered’, despite some people expecting orders that day.

Did you get caught by their sudden closure?

  • Oh gosh, that’s Terrible, There are quite a few players in this market thought.

  • This seems to be a thing lately, companies starting up, running until they get enough followers and then closing and often people are left out of pocket, there should be more protections put in place. I am still waiting for an order from a new company that keeps promising to deliver, and I am going to claim my money back soon if I don’t see it, if they don’t pay I will go to paypal.

  • Seems a bit sudden! I read a lot of budinesses going bust, even the big ones, so it’s not really surprising. I’ve never used them, never even heard of them, so I won’t miss them

  • Arh never heard of them! No wonder they have closed

  • I’ve never even heard of this company?

  • not heard of them…poor people who prepaid

  • Never heard of them. Guess a few people are going to have to make their own dinner.

  • I have not heard of this particular company!

  • I haven’t heard of them before, and it’s an unfortunate event for the customer and the staff

  • I’ve never heard of this company. I’d be pretty peeved if I’d paid for meals before they went bust.
