Buckingham Palace has officially revealed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will keep the birth of their baby private.

It is understood that there will not be a photo show outside the hospital like Prince William and Kate.

It is more likely that photographs of Meghan and Harry’s baby will be released a few days after the birth.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very grateful for the goodwill they have received from people throughout the United Kingdom and around the world as they prepare to welcome their baby,” a statement from the palace read.

“Their Royal Highnesses have taken a personal decision to keep the plans around the arrival of their baby private. The Duke and Duchess look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family.”

The news has received a mixed reaction from the public, with many royal fans pleased with the couple’s decision to enjoy private time with their newborn, before announcing the birth.

Good on them! I think they are making wise choices, don’t you?

  • Like Hrry and Megan’s decision to spend time with their new bub before’ goes on public display. They have right to some privacy from media, like many others I am excited and waiting to see them and their new baby. I watched show yest on Netflix showing Diana story and it was horrific to see how she was hounded by press, so good on you Harry and Megan and best wishes.

  • nice to see Harry showing his own individuality on this. I hope everything goes well for them both.

  • Agreed. Their baby. Who wants to be dolled up right after giving birth for a photo. God no thanks. Good on them

  • Good on them. I’m sure the mom needs some rest too. Not rushing to tidy up and stand there for everyone to take photos.

  • They should have whatever they want. They are not in line to the throne so good on them for keeping it private

  • It’s their choice, but I like the way Kate and Wills did the photo, and I’m sure they know their fans are so excited by the birth too and want to catch a glimpse.

  • It’s great that they are able to make that choice!

  • Great that they are not pandering to the media who makes millions of dollars out of the photo’s, hopefully they will do something else that will help charity and not media moguls.

    • The idea of a charity/charities benefiting is a wonderful idea.

  • Good on them! So much pressure on them, let them do things their own way and stop comparing them to wills &Kate.

  • If it works for them that’s all that matters

  • I think this s a good choice for them.

  • Good on them for keeping it private – it is a special moment for parents to cherish.

  • It’s entirely up to them but like anyone in the public eye, we want to see and know about the baby!

  • I saw this on telly,l agree it is the correct way and good on them for changing tradition.

  • it must be hard for them being so much in the public eye
