Can you help out the children’s hospital with their request for kids pyjamas?

PYJAMAS are desperately needed in all sizes for The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.

The social work department of the hospital has requested casual clothing, pyjamas, socks and underwear in all sizes, to provide to families in emergency situations.

Pyjamas are one item that often doesn’t get donated and are in desperate need says Ward Angels.

NOTE: The pyjamas need to be sorted by Ward Angels first. Please do not deliver directly to the hospital.

Please help if possible x

  • I wonder if they need any at the hospitals closest to me.

  • Shall drop some pajamas & casual wear off when I can, never realized that these were a much needed item though makes sense.

  • Great stuff ! We come at Westmead’s Children’s hospital all the time. My youngest had numerous admissions and sees ENT specialist, Pediatrician, Eye specialist and Heart specialist there. Westmead’s Children’s hospital is a great hospital from which we had and have wonderful and good quality help.

  • We have a similar system with the WCH in Adelaide. We do packs for Mums and children including newborns. Mum’s knickers are not put in the actual packs because of sizes. Some are bought, others are homemade by a charity group which does a lot of sewing every week. The packs also including toileteries so people save unopened mini toothpaste, shampoos and things like that from motels that they don’t use. You pay for them in your nightly charge. By law motels and Hotels are supposed to dispose of what is in the room when people leave as they can’t tell whether they have been used at all or not I know a couple of people who have worked in Motels

  • This is such a great idea. I myself have been caught out 3 times when hospitalised via ED and having no family close by meant I had no clothes, undies or anything. Yes initially you have the gown they give you, but if admitted for a few days or weeks as I’ve been in the past, there’s nothing worse than not having clothes or pj’s. You don’t realise how the basics mean so much. I was fortunate enough that social work had some toiletries packs and was given scrubs to wear each time I was admitted. But this is a great idea. And so so important for kids and their families for an unexpected admission.

And there’s nothing that makes you feel a bit more human then fresh pj’s or clothes when your ill or injured in hospital. I’ll definitely be sharing this with people I know and hope the hospital get a lot of donations.
