Mum gets her rant on after seeing a ridiculous complaint about the Coles collectables on her favourite Facebook page.

Blogger and Mum of 3, Fiona, From Rock Star Mums Drink Champagne has something to say to all those people getting cranky about missing out on collectables in the grocery shop.

“Bloody hell, you Mavis types get around”, wrote Fiona on her FB page.

Explaining further, “This image of a Facebook post came from my new favourite page: Kmart Unhacks & Roasts”, shared Fiona.

“Some Mavis type woman went to Coles, spent $59.47 and only received ONE little shopper. The absolute injustice of it all!”

She goes on to say, “For the love of all cheap-arsed plastic things in this world, just buy a packet of farking gum like every other mummy collector and you too shall receive shoppy thing number two. But…no, this woman writes a stinging, mathematically bankrupt (use a calculator ffs!) Facebook post blasting Coles for being a tight-arse bunch of wacko’s.

“Hahahaha, I love that she even said “I hate you Coles. Miserable, petty, mean” Ummmmm… perhaps one needs to take a little peak-a-boo into the mirror? Hmmmmm?

I bet young Malcolm, the pre-pubescent nervous faced checkout kid probably shits himself every time someone like this comes through and says “LET ME SPEAK TO THE MANAGER!”

In conclusion Fiona added, “Now if she’d written a Facebook post blasting the shit out of Coles for doing a promotion of this magnitude during PLASTIC FREE FUCKING JULY, I would have taken her side. I mean, isn’t it an absolute piss-take that Coles are taking a great big sloppy dump on the environment launching this promo now? Did someone in marketing get a great big kick up the wazoo for this?”

Some people take life way too seriously! I feel sorry for all the Woolworths and Coles staff who would be copping it big time at the moment.

  • Why is it so upsetting i don’t get it

  • I can see why the lady is upset about the 47c as she wasn’t told. She would’ve bought something extra had she known. I’ve never known someone not to tell you the total though. You can see it on the screen, and you have a chance to ask should you not have been told or misheard etc before you pay. Just a lesson for all I guess to check.

  • oh nooo 47c. yeahh she could’ve bought an extra apple when they told the final payment amount. :(

  • I’m totally confused as to why these mini collectibles are such a big deal. Just more wasted resources and landfill as far as I’m concerned.

  • Yes, this is all getting too ridiculous! Carrying on like a baby having a tantrum …. why didn’t she just pick up something cheap at the check out to make up the difference – the staff are only doing their job ….

  • love the rant haha but so right that people take it too seriously, especially how much people will pay on ebay for them. there will be more and more promotions like this, so hopefully the hype calms down and people don’t have to get so savage about it all

  • Why didn’t she get something extra when she heard the total was not $60 rather than carrying on like a toddler

  • Logic that $59.95 is 1 collectable. That isn’t injust but just.

  • The shopper should have responsibility for keeping an eye on the total.
The promo clearly states it is $30 per mini and imagine if exceptions were made? where would it stop?

  • I saw this, she could’ve easily bought something extra

  • I don’t go crazy in regards to I must have these, tho I do collect them. The other day I only had to pick up a few things at coles but figured if the total was close I’d grab something at the checkout. No point in getting within $1 and not getting the freebie. This woman should have checked her total before paying. It’s not the checkout assistants job to tell you you need to spend x amount to get a mini, it’s their job to ask IF you are collecting them. I’ve been chatting to the checkout assistants saying I collect them for my kids to play with, and after a 5 min conversation they STILL ask if I’m collecting them. THAT is their job

  • I really do feel for the staff at these places. I see it all the time, people taking their nonsense out on kids when they’re just doing their job.

    • Such a shame and no one should have to tolerate bad behaviour because of promotions.

  • While I agree, complaining about it is going a bit far. Don’t blame the shop assistant for being 47c short, you should check your total before paying and they advertise the conditions for getting these bonus freebies. I agree, if you were that short, buy some mints, some gum or a chocolate. That would get you over the total needed.
But in saying that, considering the effort she went to by going higher up, I am surprised coles didn’t just cave and give her one.

  • I do think they could be a bit more ‘free’ with their hand outs though. If you’re a few cents off then an extra one wouldn’t kill them.

  • Yeah, I agree. I wish they’d do something more useful, like points towards books or DVDs.
