I steam these in my Thermomix and they always turn out perfect… soft and fluffy with a flavoursome filling. Served with other Hong Kong Dim Sim Kitchen products makes for an easy fake-away at a fraction of the cost!

  • Pork Buns

    4 out of 5

No international holidays meant that i had to get my pork buns locally. These were at Woolworths and although it doesn’t taste like the buns you get in a little market in Asia, these are the next best thing.

  • A must have

    4.5 out of 5

These are absolutely our favourite. We steam ours in a pot steamer on some baking paper with holes. They are light and fluffy and the inside is full of flavour. Dipped in a bit of soy sauce and they are beyond delicious. Only downfall is the paper that is on the bottom does tend to stick if not removed prior to cooking.

  • I’m not sure about these

    3 out of 5

I’m not sure about these, very little filling and the bread is extra sweet.
I’m not sure if maybe I cooked them wrong but they just weren’t that great

  • might have been my cooking

    3 out of 5

Never cooked these before but gave them a go. Did not like the flavour at all. Was like eating meat wrapped in cake. Maybe the way I cooked it was faulty but will never know.

  • Easy treat!

    4.5 out of 5

This is one of my kids favourites treats when we go out, however they can be quite costly. They love my ‘home made’ versions just as much haha

  • Super yummy but I can’t seem to cook them right

    2.5 out of 5

These buns are delish and I buy them all the time but I can’t seem to cook them like when you buy them fresh. I splash a little water over them and put them in the microwave as I don’t have a steamer however they tend to either get soggy or hard. Would be 5/5 if I could cook them correctly

  • Delicious

    5 out of 5

I think these are the best Asian snack on the market! I served these at a house warming and they went down an absolute treat

  • My sons fave

    5 out of 5

These are my sons favourite food. We cook them when we cook dumplings. They are really easy to cook and we cook them when we are having an easy night

  • Yum!

    4 out of 5

Ooooh these are pretty good for store bought pork buns. Unfortunately nothing can beat freshly made ones but for frozen these are pretty good. I will buy them again

  • A family favourite

    4.5 out of 5

These are great! So yummy and nice and easy. Everyone in our family loves them and they make a yummy filling lunch or to have with dinner.

  • Delicious small baos

    3.5 out of 5

Love these baos, so handy to have in the freezer. Smaller than usual pork buns but its great for kids. They can come a bit squashed at times but once you reheat they fluff out, And I only buy these when half price, otherwise they can be bit pricey.

  • Fast and Easy Dim Sum Meal

    4 out of 5

Love to have these with the siu mai and chives dumpling varieties. Be careful not to overcook the buns or they will be dry.

  • Perfect portion size

    5 out of 5

I love that these are a bit smaller than the normal ones. It’s a perfect snack size and one that my toddler can actually finish. The filling is pretty good. There’s a few visible cubes of pork.

  • So easy

    5 out of 5

I’ve been having these for lunch every week now because they are so easy to prepare. All you have to do is stream them for around 10 minutes and you’re done.
They taste just as good as they do at yum cha. The only complaint I have is that they are quite small, I would rather them be bigger in size but the whole packet is definitely enough to have and keep you full during lunch.
Plus, they are mostly half price at woolies every fortnight or so, so it’s a win win.

  • A good quick fix

    3.5 out of 5

Easily accessible for purchase, when we feel like bbq pork buns but can’t get to Yum Cha, we grab these. They taste good and have a better texture when steamed.

  • Hong Kong Bbq Pork Buns

My husband buy these buns and makes it into a Pad Thai meal with noodles and stock.
We buy them on special and it makes a very cheap and enjoyable meal

  • Yum

Love these BBQ pork buns. I think the size is great, the amount you get and they are all priced, plus they taste yummy. Highly recommend

  • Great to keep on hand in freezer for suprise guests

    4.5 out of 5

I always wanted to be the type of host who would accomodate guests at the drop of a hat! If it wasn’t for yummy quick to heat, but still fancy looking snacks like these then I would not be able to acomplish this aim!
We always have a packet of these on hand in the freezer. If we do not eat them as late night post dinner snacks whilst watching a movie then we keep them for quick easy weekend lunches.
Highly recommend these, they are a family favourite

  • Yum

    3.5 out of 5

Really yummy! I love having a packet of these in the back of the freezer as they are quick and simple to make for an easy dinner.

    4.5 out of 5

My family loved this for a treat one night along with the dumplings. They were very sticky though so make sure you put up your kids hair first.

  • Love

    5 out of 5

We love this product! The pork flavour is just perfect. Easy to cook. Sponge and soft. Always found in special. The only negative is that I have to usually cook two packs for the whole family! Would love to see them in bigger size

  • Just like yumcha

    5 out of 5

Easy and quick to cook. Flavoursome. Tastes just like takeaway. Try to keep a stash in the freezer and will stock up when on special. So addictive.

  • Lovely

    3.5 out of 5

My partner really loves these and usually can’t tell they aren’t from the local take away joint. Cheaper and easy to have on hand to cook up quickly when he gets the craving for them

  • Can't get enough!

    5 out of 5

Oh man these are so addictive! So quick and easy to prepare in the bag in the microwave, and honestly they come out just like the real deal. The bun itself is a fluffy, sticky texture, and the meat is deliciously sweet. I can easily eat a packet and still want more!

  • Enjoyable

    4.5 out of 5

The BBQ pork buns are very enjoyable and it doesn’t take long to cook. The buns actually taste like those you may find at restaurants.

  • Hubbys favourite

    4 out of 5

Always keep these in the freezer. Everyone in the family cant get enough! Havnt checked the sugar content but both the bread and filling are quite sweet. Easy to cook, even in a sub standard vege steamer. Has paper on the bottom to prevent sticking. Bit small if anything.

  • Good for an easy side!

    4 out of 5

If you aren’t into making your own pork buns, Hong Kong Bbq Pork Buns are a wonderful side dish to an asian inspired meal. So easy and quick to make and soo fluffy!

  • YUM!!

    5 out of 5

I love these buns!! I get them from Yum cha and bought some in Thailand when I was there and they are worth every penny. One night I was craving some and found them in the freezer at Coles…. it’s safe to say I’m now addicted. Must try!

  • Great buns

    5 out of 5

I buy these Delicious pork buns when they r on sale for 2.50$ from my local woolies and steam them using a bamboo steamer great yummy taste

  • yum yum

    3 out of 5

was quick and easy snack. it is a little small and a little dry, but as far as a frozen microwaved snack goes its good and also cheap

  • Yummy

    4 out of 5

These are fairly decent for a frozen pork bun. I microwaved them as per the pack instructions and they turned out nice and fluffy. The filling is nice, however you definitely need some soy or sweet chili with them as the bun does a weird thing where it sort of dries your mouth out otherwise.
