I have a gluten sensitivity (it makes my joints painful and stiff), and I’m always looking for great gluten free bread. This is my go to product since I find it has an appealing taste and texture. I like the seeds for added nutrition. It is better still when it is toasted. I also like to freeze loaves since bread can go off so quickly.
I actually bought this one by accident and it wasn’t until my husband pointed out it was gluten free that I realized I bought the wrong one.
Tastes really yummy as I didn’t notice a difference
I have tried a few different gluten free breads and this one is my favourite.
When it is first opened it is fresh and soft and can be used for sandwiches. After the first few days I tend to keep it in the fridge or freezer and use to for toasting.
I’m sure given Helga’s reputation they would do much better with their Gluten Free Breads. I realize it is hard to produce a soft, less dry bread with gluten free flour. So I suggest they look at ways that will entice those that are either celiacs or gluten intollerant, to buy bread that is not only good for toasting, because it is too dry, but is soft enough not to have to toast. A soft sandwich would be so nice for a change.
This gluten free bread tastes so good despite being gluten free which usually makes it yuck to me. I get this on mark down occasionally. Not a fan that its half the size and double the price tho
I have tried this bread and I usually freeze the loaf and take out the slices when I need them.
To be honest I’m happy to eat the cheaper supermarket brands of GF bread. This product’s price is one of the more expensive in the GF loaf range and I have that to consider as well.
Most gluten free breads contain high sugar levels and can be quite dry. I find the Helgas brand offers a fresher, softer bread that can even be eaten fresh!
This one and the whole meal loaves are a family favourite. Doesn’t taste cardboard like a lot of other gf breads too. Great as toast or fresh. Not bad for a GF bread!
This is one of the better gluten free breads especially as it is packed with seeds which give added texture and interest. I don’t eat a lot of bread but I keep a loaf in the fridge or freezer for when it is needed.
A neighbour of ours works at the factory that makes this bread so every now and then we find a loaf at our door. It’s quite a nice GF bread. I still prefer non GF bread but this one is not too bad and lasts well.
I don’t normally need gluten free products but when my son visits, who is coeliac, I buy a few things in. A lot of ppl complain about the stodgey taste of gluten free products, but this……I honestly cannot tell its gluten free
This is my favourite gluten free bread.
It’s not often I eat gluten free bread without toasting it first, but Helga’s is lovely & soft & doesn’t need toasting.
The 5 seeds variety is yum – and good for you too!
As a recently diagnosed coeliac, my son is trying to come to grips with a gluten free diet. To eat Helgas gluten free, you wouldn’t even know it was gluten free. I love the 5 seeds too
Most g-f breads on the market are a bit of a joke because the texture is not even close to normal bread but this Helga’s Gluten Free Bread 5 Seeds variety comes very close to a good multi grain bread. It is perfect when toasted and not too bad when fresh. I find that it keeps better in the fridge.
I am not so sure of this bread, I am on a special diet of Gluten free and other things to check for Celiacs and I found this bread to be very heavy and hard to eat I must say I have not tried it toasted yet but willin the morning..
Being coeliac I am always trying out different gluten free items especially breads as thy range from really good to really terrible!! I love the taste of this 5 seeds bread. It toasts really well, and is also quite soft and doesn’t just break apart! However the packaging which is supposed to reseal, doesn’t really do a good job of that. As a result, the bread goes stale unless you freeze it, which sort of defeats the purpose of fresh bread to me. I would recommend they put it in a normal bread bag that can be twist tied. It’s such a shame to have about a third of this loaf go to waste unless I eat it within a couple of days :/
I’ve only just started buying Helga’s Gluten Free Bread 5 seed because it says ‘wheat free’ & it’s been great. I can’t have wheat so it’s really hard to find an option for me, this one is Tasty & freezes great.
We love this gluten free bread in our household. It’s great for toast and for my daughter’s sandwiches for school. The 5 seeds give it a great flavour.
This is a good GF bread. I like this variety as it has a good selection of seeds which all add their own flavour. The loaf is smaller than non-GF varieties and can be quite expensive. It is a little stodgy however tastes really nice and is a dream when toasted. Would definitely recommend this product
