  • One of the best marmalades to buy.

    4.5 out of 5

Would rate it 5 if I could. I have always loved this product, any flavour, but very disappointed that the 500gr size was taken off the market and replaced with a smaller one, and not even charging an appropriate price for less. I would be happy to pay more for a bigger size. These companies have no idea.

  • Try once

Specially why i bought because of its name. i never skip my english breakfast tea. So i wanted to try toast with marmalade jam. Not that bad. love it for one time

  • Rip off

    0.5 out of 5

I cannot believe the gall of this company reducing the size of the jar and charging the same price! If their costs are going up, I would have happily paid more. But now I just feel cheated.

    I complained here: consumercare@haindaniels.com

  • Austerity measures for Rose

    5 out of 5

I love Rose’s marmalade and I know times are tough so Rose has had to reduce the size of the jars while keeping the price the same. Whatever she needs to do to keep this wonderful product available is fine by me.

  • Meagre Marmalade

    0.5 out of 5

Haven’t bought it for a while – and was disappointed with the smaller jar size and price – which will mean I’ll make my own in future!

  • Shrinkflation!

    0.5 out of 5

Used to be a good product but now the smaller jars are just plain irritating. Where’s the social and environmental responsibility? Now producing twice as much glass to package two-thirds of the marmalade!

  • SMALLER JAR SIZE SAME PRICE

    0.5 out of 5

Like other mums on this review, very disappointed to see the jar has shrunk but the price has not!
We see it with other products too. (Kleenex thick and large tissues used to house 95 tissues now only 80 can fit for same price!) Do the companies think we don’t notice?
Roses brand has always been our go to treat marmalade but will be checking others now. Bad move insulting intelligence of your customers…

  • favourite marmalade for years until the jars shrunk

    0.5 out of 5

Total waste of money – jars are now too small, which means they\’re used up within a fortnight. That\’s way too much recycling. Jars have reduced in size (375g now, from 500g) and the price is the same? Stupid move by whichever global idiot company bought out what was a much-loved family brand. Shame.

  • Minlessly stupid to reduce jar size and change the recipe!

    0.5 out of 5

It’s been a favourite for many years, but no more! Too many companies treat consumers like morons!
Wake up Rose’s! We are not idiots! We do see the drop in size for the same price and the flavour that used to be excellent is now no better than other brands!
Company executives never seem to understand what consumers want and apparently don’t give a hoot!

  • Love

Love this bread spread!goes well on toast and with a hot cuppa in the morning while baby is having breakfast.free east breakfast for a busy morning

  • Very sad and dumb marketing by Roses

    0.5 out of 5

Enjoyed Roses Marmalade for many years, Decades in fact. Sadly the marketing people at Roses might just have lost me as a customer. In the same way Cadbury NZ blundered and lost loyal customers because of a similar, dumb decision. Bye Bye Roses. Hope your 375g jars were bought cheap. Matching this cheap stunt

  • Reduced size

    0.5 out of 5

I have bought Rose’s English Breakfast marmalade for years, but I was so shocked by the significant reduction in size that I won’t be a customer any more. It’s not even a subtle change. Totally unacceptable.

  • 375gmbottle far to small for my needs

    1.5 out of 5

Product is fine. I have been using it since 1962. But why take away the 500g bottle? It is a waste of time for me to buy the smaller jars.
I shall be looking for an alternative product now. 60 years I have been supporting Roses but that stops today.

  • Pure rip off

    0.5 out of 5

Was once the best but now it’s in a smaller jar and the texture has changed. Time to find another brand

  • WHAT HAPPENED TO THE JAR!!!!

    3.5 out of 5

I was horrified when I picked up this jar today, I immediately knew it was very much smaller. My favourite marmalade but seriously this is not on. I would probably have paid more to have the volume as it doesn’t last long. SO disappointed.

  • Last time I'm buying this

    1 out of 5

I\’ve just bought another bottle of this marmalade and cannot believe how much smaller the bottle is and it\’s so much sweeter. Last time I\’m buying this and will now start making my own.

  • Still god jam lousy price for quantity

    2.5 out of 5

Totally disappointed in Heinz Watties NZ response as to why the decrease in size while maintaining the the same price and no comment on the change in formula about 9 months ago to a thicker consistency (more sugar). Still using it , because there is no other jam close to taste C’est la Vie

  • For up to 20 years.... used to like it

    2.5 out of 5

Now with a smaller jar and with a change in the taste……disappointing. Time to find another marmalade

  • JAM SCAM

    0.5 out of 5

Love this jam but not enough to pay the same for 125g LESS in the jar. That’s a 25% drop in quantity. It’s already too expensive for a high sugar content jam. I’ll be doing the same as a previous review- making my own. Oranges in abundance here in QLD at the moment. Jam isn’t hard to make. Just need to make the effort.

  • My marmalade has changed, why?

    2.5 out of 5

Now I’m getting my marmalade in 375g jars at the same price I was paying for 500g jars! Why have the jars become smaller? Also, still too much sugar for English Breakfast Marmalade. I think I’ll have to start making my own Seville marmalade again. Shame Rosie’s.

  • High quality

    5 out of 5

The quality does not lie, it is amazingly deliciously good. Great for a high tea or casual breakfast . I really adore it and recommend.

  • The perfect marmalade

    5 out of 5

The citrus isn’t to overpowering and perfect sweetness, the Marmalade brings me closer to spending mornings with my dad, hot black tea and crispy toast

  • Best Marmalade

    4.5 out of 5

I can remember having this as a child, and luckily they still haven’t changed the recipe as its my favourite brand of marmalade. Not too sweet.

  • good brand

Absolutely one of the sweetest and most terrific marmalades I have tasted. It tastes perfect on toast with a good serving of butter too. Love the jars too.

Rose’s english breakfast marmalade l bought because a family member uses it and l loved the taste of the marmalade. The jar is very charming and lovely as a small present!

  • Perfect marmalade

    5 out of 5

I love this marmalade. Its great for breakfast or if i just want a sweet treat. The texture is not to watery and not too thick. I love the peel in it. Its the perfect mix of sweet and tangy.

  • Love this Popcorn

    4 out of 5

I love marmalade on toast and Rose’s English Breakfast Marmalade is one of my favourites. The taste and texture is great and I would highly recommend this product to others who love marmalade.

  • Reminds me of my time in the UK!

    4.5 out of 5

Marmalade is huge in the UK on toast for breakfast or with scones or muffins for morning tea – so I just had to try this! I love the texture and the taste – reminiscent of many a leisurely breakfast with family back home! I love that I can now get a little slice of England here in OZ!
