I rarely buy marmalade as my husband always makes ours, but if I want a special treat I will buy this brand of lime marmalade. Although I have limes growing, I can never replicate this marmalade by Rose’s. Mine is always too bitter, but I will try again when I get my next load of limes.
I went to buy Rose’s Lime Marmalade today, but I didn’t get any. It was cloudier than it used to be and I couldn’t see any peel in it! It used to be a clear gel with plenty of peel.
Marmalades should contain lots of peel, otherwise it’s just citrus jam. Why mess with a recipe that’s worked for years? I won’t be buying any more. Something else that’s been buggered up!
I grew up eating Roses Lime marmalade- having had quite a long time in more recent years not eating it I’ve now gone back to it only to find it’s not marmalade but jelly with a few scant shards of lime on the top of the jar VERY DISAPPOINTED THEY SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO CALL IT MARMALADE
Yet another product claimed to be mde in NZ.
Unfortunately the NZ labelling laws allow a product to be “made in. NZ” if they are packaged in NZ. We have no informtion where the product is actually made, I suspect it is China.
Won’t be buying this or any “made in NZ” products ever again.
I enjoy having marmalade on fresh bras or toast, haven’t always liked it big when I tried this brand I thought it is great, good return and still get the little bits of ribs which add more texture and flavour
Absolutely love this lime spread! It’s nice and different to your normal jams and is delicious on warm toast. I don’t find the lime taste over powering but In saying that I love lime
I remember the days of my childhood when Roses Lime Marmalade was a luscious, tangy, delicious conserve. Now it is little more than a lime flavoured gel. A check on the label reveals that it’s only 16% lime – the other 86% being mainly sugar and water. Yet again the bean counters have moved in and ruined another once great product.
Have been buying this for 30+ years. Great tasting. Perfect consistency. Just the right amount of fruit in it. Ideal as a spread or for use in baking. Love the stylish jars – re-use them for kids craftwork.
When I discovered this lime marmalade it was a happy day. Rose’s Lime Marmalade is a seriously good marmalade. Love the lime flavour – spot on and love the taste of this marmalade on thick toast with butter. Great on scones with cream too.
We love our spreads in this house and when it comes to Marmalade this is the only one to buy! We usually use the orange flavour, but the lime is great for a treat. I have even used it in a special chicken dish.. so yum!!
I love Rose’s Lime Marmalade and although it is sweet it is delicious thickly spread on toast with butter. Over the years it has remained a favourite in our house hold.
