The Coles Finest Luxury Toffee Apple Wreath 520g is just above average. the taste is not too prominent and i would be happy to trade this fr something else. worth a try once.
So this Coles Finest Luxury Toffee Apple Wreath is new to Coles. I actually had the pleasure of sampling this dessert in store. Now maybe I should not be comparing it to their very popular line the gingerbread pudding but personally I was not impressed as much with this dessert. To me it did not have the wow factor as much as the gingerbread pudding but in saying this it still was quite lovely in presentation. Now to the flavour : I was a little disappointed that I really could not taste or see the candied apple ..may be my piece missed the apple but I did taste plenty of sultanas. The description by Coles is : Lightly spiced sponge pudding, studded with candied apple, plump sultanas and date pieces. Personally again though the sponge was very nice it just lacked a little kick for me. The pudding comes in a wreath shape with a hole in the centre where you pour the toffee sauce into. After tipping the sauce into the hole and around the edge you sprinkle with granola crumble. The sauce is sticky and sweet and does complement the pudding wreath but I personally was not struck on the granola at all and felt it just was not meant to go with the pudding. Over all though very nice but I felt could have done with a little more tweaking. This pudding is 520g so is 80g smaller than the Gingerbread Pudding and sells for the same price of $12.
