  • Its ok

    2.5 out of 5

Go ahead and give it a go. Its aussie owned unlike vegimite is now. Unfortunately it not quite there in terms of flavour and texture but its ok.

  • Great spread for those who are gluten intolerant

    4.5 out of 5

Dick Smith’s Ozemite is a great alternative for people who can not stomach gluten. The spread is not as strong as vegemite and has a creamy taste to it. Perfect on toast or in sandwiches .

  • Ok

    3 out of 5

Sorry Dick but this just doesn’t quite work for me. I’m so used to the traditional flavour that I can’t quite get my taste buds around this one. Maybe by the end of the jar????

  • It’s no Vegemite

    2.5 out of 5

Unfortunately sorry dick smith I get what you were trying to do but def not as good as the original Vegemite. It’s not bad but not great either

  • Yummy

    4 out of 5

A really nice spread that I often buy for the kids to put on their sandwiches whether for breakfast on the weekends or lunch on school days,

  • Dissaooeared from shelves

    5 out of 5

My favourite but coles / woolworths no longer sell it. Can still get it here https://springgullyfoods.com.au/product/ozemite-gluten-free-yeasat-spread-175g/

  • Where the heck has it gone???

    5 out of 5

One minute its on the shelves and the next you cant buy it anywhere. We all loved it. It was gluten free and it was an Aussie product which is all I will buy. Im very disappointed.

  • Aussie as !!

    5 out of 5

It’s great, tastes like Promite (which I used to buy) but is 100% Aussie owned and made, and not paying any religious certification fees. It’s now produced by Spring Gully, a local Adelaide owned and run company… and we buy their products also.

  • Great spread

    5 out of 5

This is the only spread that I will eat it is a great product the only problem I have with it I can’t find it on the shelf

  • My favourite

    4.5 out of 5

Started using this a few years ago and liked it (after using vegemite every morning for as long as I can remember). Now none of the others taste nearly as good to me but can’t seem to get it anymore. It was rebranded for a while after DS pulled out; but no longer being made?

  • vegemite all the way

    2 out of 5

Unfortunately my mindset likes to stick with Vegemite when it comes to this kind of spread, although I do still give it a go every now and then as I want to support Australian products.

  • Horrible

    0.5 out of 5

I don’t even want to give this even half a star. It’s sweet Vegemite and I and my family despise this horrible stuff. I don’t understand how people’s taste buds could even like sweet Vegemite. Ewwww.

  • Feels like I'm cheating

    2.5 out of 5

I bought it.. tried it… but it just feels like I’m cheating on Vegemite when I use it. I think it tastes ok, but it is a little different. I’ll stick to my old faithful Vegemite :)

  • Nope

    2 out of 5

We use Vegemite at home and I’ve tried swapping with this but no body liked it and i had to throw it in the bin – lucky i bought only the small jar.

  • Not my cup of tea

    0.5 out of 5

I tried this product years ago and it tasted really strange to me. Nothing like vegemite. It was awful in my opinion. I would never eat this again.

  • Good

    4 out of 5

I do buy this sometimes because I like that Dick Smith donates his profits to charity. Perhaps not quite the same as Vegemite but still pretty good!

  • Aussie to the core

    4.5 out of 5

I actually like this taste wise, but what I love about it is that it is gluten free and totally Aussie! It’s a shame it is a bit more expensive but a good product. Good in you Mr Smith!

  • Perfect substitute

    5 out of 5

I buy this for my coeliac daughter who can no longer have vegemite. She loves it! And I confess I quite like the taste too. I find it’s like a cross between vegemite and promote, both of which she used to have and can no longer eat, so it was a perfect substitute

  • Pretty Good

    3.5 out of 5

I have had Dick Smith’s Ozemite on a couple of occasions as a change from Vegemite and it is slightly weaker than Vegemite but I still love it on toast and crumpets in the morning and would recommend others give it a try.

  • aussie proud

    4 out of 5

I like this product and buy it very often , have even converted my other half who is a vegemite kid from way back , it is like a cross between promite and vegemite and you get e=use to it very quickly

  • Good as gold

    3.5 out of 5

As good as the old, old Vegemite, and also Australian. Keeps citizens in work and fast disappearing manufacturing in the country. Thank you Dick Smith.

  • Good!

    3 out of 5

I rememver having breakfast at a familt member’s house and l wanted vegimite on toast but they had Ozemite to support Dick Smith and l founf it good but not as good as my usual!

  • Love it

    4 out of 5

Not as thick as some other yeast based spreads. Love that it is not too salty for my household and great for spreading on my toast or in Ozemite and cheese scrolls.

All profits going to charity is a bonus.

  • can't compare to vegimite

    2.5 out of 5

I tried as it was 100 % aussie but was dissapointed. I dont think anything will compare with vegemite. It was very salty and seemed like they tried to hard to replace vegemite

  • Gluten free, moister than other equivalents.

    5 out of 5

Dick Smith’s Yeast Spread is one of the rare Gluten Free savoury spreads.
It is also moister than other similar products.

  • Simply not Vegemite

    1.5 out of 5

I get that Dick Smith us trying to make every day Aussie cuisine more affordable for everyone, but this is a massive fail. May as well spread salt on your toast
