There are many fake types of vegimite, such as promite etc, but the one that is the best by far is the original vegimite. My whole family loves it

I and my fussy kids absolutely love vegemite on toast. The best way or so I’m told is cover the toast with marg or butter then put a small amount on. I personally prefer it just vegemite cover the whole piece of toast

  • Converted to vegemite

    5 out of 5

From the UK I initially didn’t like the taste of vegemite. Not sure what happened in the last year but now I LOVE it. While others I know stick with a light covering on their toast, mine has grown to be too think I think. Good to hear it’s got the good vitamins in there too. Win!

  • I’m a vegemite girl

    5 out of 5

We always have vegemite in the house. Perfect for making a quick lunchbox sandwich or a piece of toast in the morning. Also a jar lasts for such a long time it’s great value for money.

  • Not for me!

    1.5 out of 5

Maybe it is because I wasn’t born in Australia but I really don’t like vegemite. It is a weird salty taste on toast that I don’t like. I am more of a Jam on toast kinda gal!

  • How can you not love it??

    4.5 out of 5

We all know you either love or hate Vegemite and in our household, we absolutely love it. Versatile to have in several sandwich and cracker combination, we always have a jar in the pantry. As far as quality goes, alternative brands or variations of flavour (even by Kraft) haven’t compared.

Best enjoyed on toast with butter (or margarine), or between vitawheat crackers, so you can do the thing where you squeeze it out of the little holes like worms.

  • Every Aussie household needs some

    5 out of 5

Vegemite… The classic Aussie savoury spread. I’m not sure it’s all that healthy (so much salt), but it tastes so good on hot toast that I don’t care. Ths little bottle is good for holiday travel or stays.

  • Never without

    5 out of 5

We’re never without a jar in the cupboard. Love it on fresh bread, on hot buttered toast, in gravy, under vegies on toast. When I’m travelling & feeling a little homesick it’s amazing how many places in the world I’ve hunted out a jar (or sometimes just a sachet) of Vegemite :)

  • Vegemite

    4.5 out of 5

This is a spread that I use for so many purposes. On toast,on a sandwich,on warm scones with butter in mashed potatoes to add that extra taste and I use it in stews and for making gravy. The grandkids love it and it’s been around for so long that only goes to show how good it is.

  • Bega Cheese now owns this

    5 out of 5

This is no longer owned by the US company Kraft. Bega Cheese Co based in Melbourne Australia now owns our favourite Australian spread. They also now own Peanut butter too.

  • A product with an iconic taste!

    4.5 out of 5

My family and I love Vegemite and this is our go to brand and version of it. Though the squeeze-able container may be seen as more convenient, this container is more efficient in terms of using the right amount.

  • Always available in the house

    5 out of 5

Kraft vegemite is perfect for a multitude of uses. On sandwiches, toast, in stews, stir-frys, with cheese, on babies pacifiers. All the vitamin B a person needs for the day. Excellent product. Always kept on hand.

  • Great Aussie favourite

    4 out of 5

My family always has a jar of this in the cupboard. It’s great on toast, savoury biscuits etc. It does have an aquired taste but the trick is to not put it on too thickly. A light smear is all you need. I also use a tablespoon of this in homemade gravy and stews. Delicious!

  • Filth! Imagine what grease does to you!

    0.5 out of 5

Clearly all positive reviews are from the company, if you want to support Australia this isn\’t the way and takes simply awful!! Wouldn\’t have this in my trolley if it was free!

Vegemite is an Aussie staple in every pantry and we’ve never been without it in our household. It is definitely an acquired taste but well worth it.

  • kraft vegemite

    4.5 out of 5

Kraft vegemite is the bees knees salty and savoury at the same time you can put it on toast or crackers whatever your fancy wish you could make a better gluten free version. But this is still the best family spread!

  • Traditional favourite

    3.5 out of 5

Still a family favourite but due to the strong taste it has to be lightly spread on toast or bread. Occasionally used for dipping veggie sticks into as well.

  • Happy Little Vegemite!

    5 out of 5

Vegemite is a classic, and I don’t know many people who don’t love it. Whether you smear it on thick or have a thin coating, it’s great on its own or added to dishes. Great on crackers, too! I’ve never been a fan of Vegemite and cheese but that’s a popular option with many.

  • Most excellent invention ever

    4.5 out of 5

My kids would have starved without it. It has an amazing taste and is out of the fridge every morning noon and night. We prefer it in the fridge. The kids don’t like the taste when it is warm and being tropical here everything is kept in fridges. Love scrolls and even pizza with vegemite.

  • An Aussie foavorire

    5 out of 5

Vegemite what can I say apart from Yum. It might not be to everyone’s ties but I find nothing better than spreading the salty spread on my toast in the mornings with lashings of butter. Also great to add to stews or casseroles to bulk up the flavor

  • Bad smell, awful colour - the BEST spread

    5 out of 5

My foreign friends are aghast that we eat something with the smell, colour and taste of Vegemite. But they are wrong, of course. And there are many overseas copies now. It’s such a specific and robust Australian taste that reminds me of childhood. And healthy too. The original and the best.
